FYI a Coat of Arms as a tattoo is a really sucky idea but more than that a Coat of Arms isn't just for everyone with a family name. That was a trick invented to sell mugs and plaques to people.
You are entitled to use Arms if you are directly descended from the particular man that was awarded them and can prove it.
And, cynically, even if we had the pedigree linking us back to that guy: somewhere in the family tree a dude probably got cucked and we aren't actually related to that guy anyway.
