looking for some new dress-style shoes. I don't want to get into nomenclature wars and I don't need anything super fancy, but something that can go with a casual outfit but work with a suit or sport coat would be nice.

Things I hate:
-mocassin toes
-pointy-ass shit
-the color brown or anything that suggests I'm OK with the existence of khaki in the universe

I don't have a fetish for gooyear welting or anything like that, but I would like to get a pair with a 5 to 10 year lifespan while being worn during the workweek.

I don't think this will work for OP, but I want to point out that if you're someone like me who only wears dress shoes occasionally you can always find something acceptable at a thrift shop for under $20.

Just bought 2 pairs of Loake oxford shoes on ebay. Was super cheap too. Like 50-60 bucks a pair. Second hand tho, but in good condition.
