Like I said, I have no Idea about fashion, am only lurking since a month or so.
Thought distressed was when they had tears/rips on them.
The jeans that I want to buy are supposed to be discolored, not dark blue and/or somewhat noisy.

Nah, imo a studded dainite sole is just as good (if not better) than a leather sole for a dress shoe in most applications. If you wear them frequently the welt, toe area and mid-sole won't get as banged up looking with wear as it's quite resilient.
