Hey /fa/
I wanna know if there are any guides/articles that have objective tips in fashion such as how to accentuate specific features and/or what colours complement each other and what colours complement specific skin tones/eye colour etc. Any pointers?

for Caucasian people there is a lot of these guides. first find your skin undertone, either green or blue. this defines if you suit warm (green) colours or cool (blue) colours. from there its pretty obvious. White makes things looks bigger, Black makes things looks smaller. So you can shrink your big feet with black shoes but then make your shoulders look bigger with a light coloured blazer.

Good artists to look at are mark rothco, frank stella and some 19th century painters like Henri Fantin-Latour. They all really experimented what you could do with colour.

This is not a rule. For example if you are warm coloured you might still avoid reds and pinks as they can bring out the imperfections in your skin. This is pretty old advise too. Its not common practice in the fashion industry anymore.

it's a small thing, but wearing long shirts make your torso look longer and your legs look shorter, while tucking in, wearing a cutoff, or wearing high waist pants make your legs look longer, your torso shorter, and you overall taller. In the pic you posted his shirt's a bit long so it fucks up his proportions a little.

My pic is kinda shitty and trendy but you can see how it affects his body shape.
