Just get basic plain jeans, plain t-shitts, and plain jackets at any mall. Then look at people who you think are fashionable and find out what makes them look good, or lurk this board and find some inspo.

He's new to fashion, it won't work for someone like him. He needs to learn the basics first, otherwise they'll look like shit.

Thrift store: T-shirt, Jacket, Shirts. Swimming trunks.

I would not recommend buying jeans through thrift stores because most of them are either too large, too small, nasty designs, bad stone wash, or a wrong fit.

I have yet to spot a pair of Levi's in my size that are slim fit or even any pair of jeans that are slim fit at all.

This really depends on your area.
I regularly pick up Levi's in my size at goodwill and savers and such for under $10, usually in really good condition.
I've also learned that it depends a lot on the neighborhood. Going to church thrift stores in higher class white neighborhoods is better than going to some of the goodwillls in shitty neighborhoods.

I actually never tried going to thrift stores in higher class neighbourhoods. I will try it out next Saturday and see if there are any good clothes to buy.
