its literally trapped in a cloud of irony and faux counter culture, it will never stop being unfashionable for that reason. thats pretty much it. glasses are boring for that reason. i guess its alright if you actually need them, but people that dont need glasses that wear them are the type that should be executed by a firing squad

Huh, I've had the same feeling that anything beyond that can be a little tryhard. Nevertheless, there is plenty of producers of these classical glasses. I'm seriously considering buying some Persol's model but I would prefer something lighter.

My eyesight isn't that bad so I never got my eyes checked until recently. I just picked the least shit glasses from my local stores.
Tbh I think they're pretty good.

anyone got recommendations for an extremely round face other than thick black rectangular frames? these ones get the job done but everyone has em and i wanna stand out a little

>> No.12261987

>>12261974
Compared to how they look, they're ridiculously sturdy.
but the real problem with metal ray-bans is those branded nose pads, they're reasonably comfortable and they're attached strongly enough, but in the event you do have one come off replacing it is more hassle than nosepads ought to be worth.
In terms of how they look, well, that's impossible to answer, as you've not provided a picture of your own face.

Thick leather. Sure, it's still thick and black, but who else other than yourself can say that their thick black frames are also leather-bound?

>> No.12262016

>>12261987

Thanks for the info, and sorry for not posting my face, I'm just not confortable with it. If it helps (it doesn't), I went to said shop with a bunch of friends and all of them agreed it was my best option from the ones available and, for the nosepad thing, the shop offers a lifetime warrant/repair/adjusments policy, so it's aight.

Thanks again, lad.

best glasses

>> No.12262028

>>12262016
Oh they'll replace it, the question is when and how. For a matter like branded nosepads, they'll email the manufacturer for new ones, which will come after a week or a month, and the tired hungover clerk won't be bothered to do any follow-up emails in that period, leaving you without a nosepad for up to a month. I should know, I'm tired and hungover and will not follow up.
Regular nosepads? Everyone has at least a few hundred of em in the back at a time, and most shops won't even bother charging for em.
But again, it's a small complaint, RB nosepads seem to stay attached to the frames quite well, even if they don't look like they ought to.

I used EyeBuyDirect recently. I sought them out because I wanted metal frames and not plastic tryhard Warby Parkers.

I extremely surprised by the quality when I got my two pairs. Good weight, very solid. With a coupon code they cost me $100 shipped and that's with all the fancy coatings save for the hydrophobic.

The key to getting good online glasses is to know your PD.
