Okay, the poster asked if anybody was here to lose for normal weights, so I answered. Like I said in my post, I might have a large frame by my wrist measurements, and while my goal is to be thin, I don't know what I'll look like or if it will suit my frame. So I'm sticking to 130 as a temporary goal to see how much I want to lose from there.

I've been overweight since childhood and have always seen myself as much larger than I was, so I don't know what I'll look like at that weight, which is why I have a temporary goal set.

I don't see how that is so hard to understand.

The ones who ate the most fat and least carbs (30g carbs) lost the most weight, most fat, and loss 54% less muscle that the other two groups who are more carbs and less fat (60g carbs, and 100g carbs) http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/83/6/1442.full

I don't really know how to express this in a way that it's taken seriously, but this thread will put people at risk for developing anorexia nervosa. Do you guys reflect on that your thinking pattern lies really close to the one of someone suffering from a deadly eating disorder? Anorexia nervosa has the highest mortality rate of any mental disorder, and anyone getting rid of it risks permanent physiological and psychological damage.

I understand that you guys have a common goal that you're working against, but have you considered that you, in your support of each others endeavours, might be helping each other to develop a thinking pattern and a way of life that will permanently damage your brain? What do you do to prevent getting sick? How do you protect each other from this when you're supporting each other getting more thin?

This (>>12242000, >>12242003, >>12242005, >>12242014,
>>12242053, >>12243053) suggests that you guys are completely unaware/ignorant of the risks of what you are doing. Please tell me that you have some way of protecting yourself, as a community, from getting seriously ill in something that ruins people's (and their families') lives. concern troll:
A person who posts on a (blog) thread, in the guise of "concern," to disrupt dialogue or undermine morale by pointing out that posters and/or the site may be getting themselves in trouble, (usually with an authority or power but sometimes just try to incite guilt or shame). They point out problems that don't really exist.

The intent is to derail, stifle, control, the dialogue. It is viewed as insincere and condescending.

Depends on which ones. Most are snake oil. The ones that actually work are somewhat dangerous if you don't follow the directions and illegal (DNP). Some people overuse their ADHD meds for the appetite suppressant effect. Some people do an EC stack.

I personally just stick to coffee for the appetite suppression, but I am a little sensitive to caffeine so I can't have a lot and I can't do it daily. I also exercise in the hopes it helps my metabolism.

Honestly I think the responsibility is on the side of the person that is trying to not become sick in this case - not because muh personal responsibility but it's not a situation where you can do anything about it

There are plenty of anons in these threads that point out health problems that come with being underweight, if someone actually reads through threads and still think they want to for example loose their period they can't really be protected. If someone doesn't want to be healthy I can't force them to through an anonymous message board

And if they don't bother reading and simply don't know there's also nothing that can be done about it. We could add points how why purging/loosing too much/too fast etc. is bad to the pastebin (and probably should at some point) but that kinda person is also unlikely to read the fucking pastebin - they typically exist to make the threads cleaner by minimizing repeated questions from new people, not stop retards from acting retarded

I take fiber supplements for my digestion.
A happy side effect is that they make me stay feeling quite full for a very long period.
Drinking a big glass of water or other no/low calorie liquid before eating can also help curb appetite naturally.

I know my appetite will cause me to get hungry but it's usually cravings, not hunger that cause me to eat outside my diet plan. But there's no willpower pill, unfortunately.

Try some skin care to lessen the redness of the scarring. /fa/ has a skin care general, maybe they can help.

A lot of chubby girls have a lot of confidence in general since /thicc/ is in and they have a "big" personality to go with their looks. Which is weird, because when I was a fattie I had no confidence. Then again, thicc wasn't in when I was a fatty. Also, chubby girls vastly outnumber thinner girls, ESPECIALLY if you're looking for an outright /thinspo/ girl.

My partner was anorectic and carries a load of things from that period in his/her life that cause her a lot of pain. I have multiple friends who have suffered from an eating disorder. I'm studying to become a psychologist and I have some insight into the patterns of thought that come with anorexia nervosa. Let me point out that I never said that you are ill, I was asking what you were doing to prevent someone from getting ill. This has to be a concern for you, as a community, if you have a goal of staying healthy.

>concern troll
you having a term for people coming in here doesn't make my points invalid

What would I gain from doing that?

Are you actually serious? People die from this illness and less than half of those that survive recover

If posts like mine are so frequent, why can't you tell me what you guys are doing to prevent inducing a deadly illness in someone else? Do you not care that your advice actually might kill someone, or least of that, helping them reach a clinical diagnosis that will most likely follow them for the rest of their lives?

And you certainly fit the bill for a psych-- you're condescending, unhelpful, and not understanding that having a place where people can be ~unhealthy~ together is ultimately a place of solidarity. You're just gonna hammer dumb mantras that everyone KNOWS already and not going to think how maybe you are coming from a place of total ignorance (which you are). Trying to help people is ethically good, but as a budding psychologist, you have to be much more careful. Psychology is supposed to be a science, and scientists have to be very careful about presupposing the solutions to their hypotheses.

This is where I believe you went wrong, because as a matter of fact there is nothing that is necessarily pro-ana suggested by the posts you cited earlier, and as a matter of fact this thread generally takes a negative view of eating disorders in general. People here tell bulimics to stop purging, to fuck off if they seem anorexic, and to lose weight knowledgeably using safe methods. If anything, we are anti-ana, and any decent amount of lurking should have told you this.

Incidentally, "lurking" in the sense of paying attention to what somebody has to say instead of speaking first is going to be perhaps the most important part of being a therapist. I suggest you get that habit down quickly lest your business trips to Conclusions Island convince Billy he's really just repressing some traumatic event that never happened, because that is a real risk for a practicing medical professional.

The links to ED-sources in the pastebin seems to me to be a good addition though, because just as frequenting /fit/ morphs your idea of the importance of your muscularity (and the general perception of one's body), this place has the potential to do the same. One could benefit from reminding oneself the reasons behind having a particular goal, and being perceptive of whether that goal is constant or changing. Just because you read something you disagree with on the interwebs, that doesn't give you any right to start pontificating on the subject to people who have repeatedly said they aren't interested to hear you. This is not 'an opportunity', we aren't 'your audience'.

I didn't mean playing doctor, just basic advice in one place like the /fit/ sticky, possibly in forms of links to reliable resources (it would be easier for sure, though you sometimes need some explanation in the context)

Valid point though (though it also applies to current pastebin, I'd say "take a multivitamin" with no explanation that it applies to people on low intakes and you might not need one on 1500kcal/d qualifies as shitty health advice)

I basically thought it would go like that
>what's a healthy/balanced diet (might even be a link to the /fit/ sticky honestly from what i recall it was pretty ok) - current pastebin is all calories and it would be a nice addition
>short mention of various common side effects of weight loss/being thin you should look out for and why they are bad (like the period thing and osteoporosis - again might be a link)
>some bad ideas and why they are bad ideas ("won't i loose faster if i eat 100kcal day", stuff like that)
>some damage control for bad ideas like purging (nothing fancy just the standard stuff like rinse your mouth)

Though now that I think about it if we just add links it could easily fit in the current pastebin without cluttering so nevermind my idea about making two

>>12243870
Like once a year or so, I didn't notice much of an effect
Used to drink a lot and honestly with all the calories you're not gonna eat because you're busy doing whatever you drank for or being sick from hangover I think it really evens out (plus if you only do it occasionally it won't hurt you either way)

No clue what a thinspo lifestyle is (conscious maintaining of a thin weight? or what?) but I yoyoed a bit from underweight to normal and a bit to overweight
Honestly it goes like any weight loss except you might know more and have more experience and it might not necessarily help much

I never found it difficult to just not eat, honestly. I avoid meat and dairy and processed foods. I don't think I've ever really liked food. Sometimes I'll go over 1200 or even 1500 and I don't panic about it, just go back to eating normally the next day

5'3, CW: 116lbs (down from 185 tho)
GW: 105

160cm 52kg (5'2 don't want to bother converting the weight)
No clue about GW I assume around 45g I'll know when I'm there
IF + trying to stay below my BMR (my activity levels are so random i don't feel like TDEE is reliable, i can literally leave the bed for like 10 minutes on worse days), it can mean anything from 300 to 1200kcal a day depending on my mood really, sometimes I have a basically negative appetite and sometimes I'm pretty hungry so trying to force a consistent intake is suffering

........................................ you really think that 1lb is going to make a difference in your appearance? you can gain double that in a single day just from eating (even at restriction)
also, you'll die eventually so like .... stop

I don't have a lot of muscle, and 1 lb of fat could make quite a difference at this point, couldn't it? Actually curious, not complaining or making excuses or anything.

Right but I'm talking about measuring at the same time of day, under as close as possible to conditions, and averaged at the end of the week. Assuming I go from my body comp now, to my body comp - 1 pound of fat, wouldn't that be significant?

in other words, "we've been a pretty long standing social club of uvula pokers and dinner skippers, if you would kindly butt out and leave us be, that'd be great you pompus prick".

You really are so defensive, that you get pretentious about a fanciful body image. If you're going to be skinny, more people work out and earn their body and low body fat.

Not trying to throw shade, but dangerous things CAN happen if you don't assume you're living anywhere near the edge. (get it?)
