They're a great shoe, in my opinion. I can't wear them with my wardrobe but when I see them in good fits, I couldn't imagine any other shoe taking their place. I prefer the earlier iterations that were very heavily inspired by the Nike Dunks but I think that's more nostalgia than anything.

I recently got the Tech Runners (they're still in the mail) and it'll be my first Rick piece. I doubt I'll go any further because his style really does only go well with his style, but I hope I can find a way to put his design to good use.

I have a pair of SS14 Suede Viscious Geos and they are excellent.
The OG B/W color pair are pretty loud, but all others look great (if you aren't short)

If You understand proportions, and have a wardrobe that can compliment the shoe, then they're fantastic. But too many people buy them just to flex and make them look horrid. They're also getting played out but hopefully people will forget about them soon.

As someone who has owned multiple tricky pieces. His geos don't go well with much, if you don't have a rick wardrobe I guarantee you'll regret that you didn't buy Ramones or Tech Runners instead because they'll look goofy with anything else.
If you have the money buy a pair of secondhand dunks they're much more wearable in almost every way. Hype aside.

They're not really a meme. Most people don't even know what they are.

I'll post a pic of mine when I get home, I've had them for around 4 years. All black with white stapled sole, short tongue version. Sole is totally yellow at this point and breaking down lol. Don't even really wear them very often any more because the inner lining is starting to give away and the sole is very worn down almost exposing the staples.

i think they look better worn out, and I'm not a fan of the classic black/white colorway that is bought by all the memers and fuccbois of the Internet

Yeah, high fashion staple, like actually limited to people who sought out alternative, high end design. Rick footwear met the mainstream thru celebrities and has since been getting culturally associated as a class signifier in a similar way to LV or Gucci - rather than something that used to be primarily consumed on a more personal level for the sake of genuine interest.

It's not that the actual thing has been ruined in and of itself, it's that it's been re-appropriated and unfortunately sends out a different message than originally intended.
