Post your current watch and the one that you'll buy next, and we rate each other styles.
I'll start: I'm currently using a Withings Activité, thinking about buying a Junghans Max Bill.
Also, any good brands for minimal watches?

>>11923700
Why is it hideous? I seriously want to know. It has an extremely minimalist design, which is what I want. It doesn't pull any punches. It's very straight forward and bold. No random numbers, or dials, or anything. Just a simple two colour system, black and gold.

How is this watch any different from these:

>>11922478
>>11922966
>>11923035
>>11923419

There isn't any difference, aside from small ones. It's a minimalist design. You're just mad about the brand itself. A decent looking watch that normal people actually decided to buy. It's astounding how mad you are that normal people joined the "watch club" and you can't be a patrician asshole by yourself anymore.

First starters I think black and gold is a shitty trashy nigger-tier combination that serves no aesthetic appeal and looks bad with any clothing. It offers no interesting design, the only thing it has going for it is it's "simplicity" which is ruined by the fact that it is thick. The name as stated is a meme name. >I think black and gold is a shitty trashy nigger-tier combination that serves no aesthetic appeal and looks bad with any clothing.

What a great subjective statement anon. Thank you for the valid input on why this watch is objectively ugly. If we are only using anecdotal evidence, then again I will say I have gotten more compliments on this watch that any other watch I own, so apparently it is doing something correct.

>It offers no interesting design, the only thing it has going for it is it's "simplicity"

That's the point of minimalist anon. The whole point is having no interesting design, just something "basic" and "baron". That's the appeal. It's like judging a shirt because it doesn't have a sick af graphic on it, and is instead only one design and colour. It's the kind of fashion it is adhering to. You're confusing it with something it is not.

>which is ruined by the fact that it is thick.

This makes no sense. Simplicity and degree of "thickness" is not synonymous with each other. While you may appreciate a minimalist watch that is "thin" in proportions, I do not. This does not mean a watch is objectively ugly, just that we like different things.

>The name as stated is a meme name.
Again, subjective. While I do agree it isn't the most creative name, I certainly don't hate it. Many companies have had stupid names and not only have they done well, but they are generally viewed in high esteem in the world. The name branding really shouldn't be the deciding factor. It should be quality and aesthetics for the price it is labelled. I think the quality of this watch and it's accompanying looks, are well worth the $100 I paid for them. The very fact you are so obsessed with the branding of the company, and it's accompanying image, tells me a lot. You own Beats, I assume?

>Just a blah watch with shitty color and shape. You could do so much better.
>and shape

Again, subjective. Would you prefer I have Mickey Mouse as the watch face? Link me some.

Hooooooollly shit, my post was
>ngl this watch is fucking hideous
I'm pretty sure "ngl" implies that the post is subjective. If you we're debating someone about what year the Declaration of Independence was signed, and they said "1775" would you say, "not gonna lie, it was actually 1776"? no you wouldn't. It was subjective. I think the watch is fucking ugly, but you seem so defensive and intent on proving that it is not ugly. Obviously there's a reason you're so defensive. How could someone that TRULY believes that their watch is, in fact, not hideous, yet still go so triggered by such a subjective short comment. You're practically begging for me to tell you why it's actually hideous so you can have an excuse to finally admit that it is hideous, and buy yourself a new one.

Okay friend. If you were just being personal with no real intent to argue, why didn't you just say the same thing when I asked you to tell me why it's ugly. Instead you spent the time to claim why I'm essentially an idiot and how the watch is the ugliest thing on earth, and shit all over everything. meranom is slow but it's (sort of) the factory direct dealer and has a good reputation with watch collectors. if i were going to get another vostok i would order from meranom again.

the amphibia SE is the same movement as the classic amphibia. 31 jewels automatic, non hacking, no quickset date, with wiggly screwdown crown.

i dunno which amphibia case is the biggest, but it's not the 420. the 670 case is larger.

i had a quartz GMT master homage a while ago and it was terrible. the only homages on my radar right now are the laco and air blue beobachtungsuhr homages. to me they are appealing because the 55 mm replica size is retard huge.

something with a GMT (24-hour/second time zone) complication, for sure.

omega doesn't really do pilot watches, which are a pretty cleanly defined genre of watches. omega is owned by the swatch group, though, and some of their other brands (longines and hamilton come to mind) do have some classic aviator designs.

speedmaster is a very safe choice. classic design, excellent quality, world-class antimagnetic protection, and made under your family friend's brand directly. while it will easily serve your timekeeping needs, it absolutely will not scream "i am a pilot" to anyone. culturally, as close as it gets is as a nod to the space program.

what you really need is a GMT master or a sinn, but it would surely be inappropriate to ask for those because they're not made by the swatch group.

pick your poison, from iconic/historical to digital.
https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/speedmaster/

or get whichever, sell it, and buy one of the many citizens that scream PILOT. pic related, it's kind of the style they do best.

or get whichever, sell it, and get a flieger. but they're kind of memey and people will think you're just a military enthusiast not a pilot.

also you posted a picture of guns and it doesn't make sense.

as microbrands get better, and less expensive, it's almost foolish to buy a luxury watch, when you can get essentially the same thing - for thousands less. in-house, better movements...

also, Rolexes/Omegas/Breitlings are so played out. Unless you're rocking a vintage (or a speedmaster). Otherwise... just don't.

You are so wrong it hurts. Just because it's in house doesn't mean it's a good movement. Some of these newer movements since Swatch cut down on selling ETA are dog shit thats graded for 30-60 seconds at best for the first 3 weeks.
They are NOT proper horology.

Plus unlike Rolexes/Omegas/Breitlings microbands are super unlikely to hold it's value once bought. These brands are timeless and popular for a reason even if they are the main brands normies go for.
I'd personally put Grand Seiko, LeCoultre, Glasthute Original and Nomos as better/more interesting brands for the money but thats purely personal taste.
