I am faced with an awkward haircut issue: I am a female with medium length hair, and long dreadlocks at the back/nape of neck.
If I want to get rid of them, I'd either have to cut them partially then comb them out, thus ending with mostly ruined hair, OR cut them close to the scalp, leaving around 5 cms to work with.
What should I do?
The hair on top of my head will be covering that area mostly, however I guess in certain situations it will be visible.

Last time I got a haircut, my barber commented that I've got a thin patch on the top of my head. I started freaking out, but they told me it was because of "breakage" and probably not hair loss.

They showed me the spot in a mirror and it looked pretty bad. I'm worried that the shampoo I'm using, which is designed for "normal to oily hair," might be exacerbating the problem. How can I fix this? Olive oil? I have really curly hair that gets oily when I don't shampoo it.

Any interesting looks for this hair? It's kind if tough to work with and dtarts to flatten out when it gets too long. I just get it cut short but I want something new for my next trip.

How do I get my hair to stay down? Right was taken as I came out of the shower, and I'd like for it to stay like that. left is what it looks like normally when dry, I try combing it and pulling it down but it always comes back up.

I also kinda like the look where the hair is clumped together and wavy, like surfer's hair, and I want to try it out for a bit. How to attain? Saltwater spray?

My hair is very similar to this, I have extremely thick and wavey hair but my pomade effectively straightens it. Thick, straight hair should be perfect for it. I have absolutely no clue how Alex styles the front like that and maintains it though, it's nigh impossible for me.

Whats a hairstyle for hair that is as long as touching my bottom lip at its longest?

I also have an undercut so its long only on the top and short at sides.

Thinking about going for this. My hair's pretty long and curly (often get comparisons to Reggie Watts), so I have enough to pull it off, but does this kind of cut require a lot of maintanence? Just buzz the sides short and have messy hair. Mess it up a little if it's really, really straight and put some hair product if you want it to be "heavier" or have more substance or whatever.

My hair is basically that without the sides being buzzed that short. I just tell my barber to cut my hair shorter.
