While this is true, if you want a lasting relationship you've gotta learn how to work past it. Assuming it's not an instant dealbreaker (cheating, for instance is a dealbreaker for most), then you've gotta try to work through it.

This is what frustrates me about the dating scene nowadays. People expect that a relationship should be a perfect disney movie all the time. And I'm not talking about staying with an abusive partner or anything (pls don't). I'm just talking about getting disappointed by someone, and then talking through whatever it is with them.

As far as soon enough, idk, I'm willing to bet that I'm older than you, anon. And while that doesn't necessarily make me wiser or smarter in any way, it does mean that however you've been hurt or let down, I've probably been through that too.

Living the isolationist life can be amazing for developing your career or individual identity or skills etc. More power to you. In my experience, it starts to get lonely and a bit hollow after a couple years though. Maybe you will feel the same, maybe you won't. Whatever happens, I hope that you pursue what fulfills you.
