What can you tell me about Danner? I want pic related but I want to hear some opinions before dropping 300+ bucks.

Have that exact pair
Only thing I can wear while hiking.....great ankle support, sole is great on uneven and wet surfaces, and personally I love the silhouette of the boots....very unique
I'll post a pic of mine later today after 1.5 years of wear and zero maintenance; they've held up quite well

>> No.11833931

Good traction, good support, very well built. Unless you go hardcore backpacking, it'll serve you well.

Thank you guys

Not him but: 10-20 miles a day, multiple days in a row, carrying 15-50 lbs

I wear trail runners but carry a light pack. Like the boot aesthetic tho

>> No.11834753

Gonna shill.

Stylish? Don't know. But Danner boots are almost godtier in my eyes. They're little pricey, but I'd almost compare them in quality to Redwing, which have godtier durability.

My Danner Pronghorns have lasted me 5+ years so far, and I've used them while hunting every time since I've bought them during all seasons.

I clean them and use Oberknoffs Leather Preservative, but I don't ever worry about scraping the leather on rocks or trees. Off trail shit.

I don't know about these though OP. Danner makes some better looking boots.

If you want them for looks get DIemme Roccia's instead

Much nicer looking imo

All I know about the brand is that they make military spec boots actually used by soldiers.

I think that their "Desert Arcadia" was a favourite of various US and allied troops for "sandbox" postings.

they're not part of the workwear aesthetic, man; trad, I guess, but not workwear

I picked up a pair of Recon's for half price before I started the police academy. I fucking hated them at first because they were so stiff, but 10 weeks of a crazy pt instructor broke them in for me.
They do a great job of keeping my feet protected from cockraoches, syringes, blood and anything else I'd experience as a patrolman.
Unless you absolutely need it, I would advise against full leather. They're water proof and impenetrable but they're freaking heavy.

My pair has a replaceable sole, which has very little wear for over a year of use.

Unless I just get a wild hair up my ass and need to get a new paid, I'm pretty sure they'll last me a good portion of my career.

Where can I get them in Europe?
