>What is techwear
Urban Techwear is the futuristic, dystopian aesthetic centered around living in a city-like environment. Enabling the wearer to liberating movements and functionality that a commuter through an urban jungle would need. This is not to be confused with the whole; technical clothing, which is based solely on providing functional attire. With this broad definition, it allows designers to skew on what shape technical clothing takes. To remember it simply, technical clothing is broad and doesn’t take any form, urban techwear is just the name of the branch that gives its shape.

In my mind many accessories like hats and backpacks should at least be waterproof if you're think weather the item functional aesthetic. For cheap backpacks I would look at Timbuk2, but personally I'll recommend Mission Workshop Rucksacks, much more expensive but they look so much better.

What makes this hoodie so expensive and other things on Outlier is that they use Merino wool. Which in the tuxbell guide is described its ability to
>ability to retain moisture directing it away from the users skin keeping you cool. It's also temperature sensitive, allowing it to keep you cool during the heat it can also change smartly to retain heat when the outside temperature is cold. Kinda reposting from previous thread

Been looking for a new winter jacket
I like having some extra pockets for EDC and I hate getting cold in this shitty wet and cold British weather. I don't mind having the same jacket for some years

Been eying this 5.11 Aggressor Parka. Love it for everything, especially the fleece liner, except the price @ 270 euro

Also seen the Jack Wolfskin North Country Jacket, although I fear it's not warm enough

It's weird, "Urban" means blousy silhouettes and lots of storage pockets, apparently to survive a wasteland-like habitat. This conflicts with the reality that cities are designed as resource rich environments where carrying long term sustenance isn't necessary.

To paraphrase a great man, you just need to carry a passport, sandwich and book.

Ok kid. Just because you cannot afford it doesn't mean you need to rage. Check out ACRNM threads online and see how many posts you can find about the products literally falling apart from minimal wear. Then try to do the same with Veilance.

Veilance represents the top of the line in technical garments and manufacturing delivered in a classic minimalist design language that transcends hypebeast-y/superfuture trends. ACRNM is tryhard streetwear for anime nerds.

the fabric is good! does not crease and maintains shape, have not worn in rain but id say not as water repellent as it could be for how heavy it is.

the velcro on the cuffs and patches along the zipper flap(?) catch on the fabric and can lead to pretty serious pilling so something to ask about if you find one to buy.

fav part is wearing hood and the horizontal hand warmer pockets.. imo underrated feature on jackets. least fav is how far the hood hangs as it cannot be folded away when not worn.

Techwear is fantastic fucking aesthetic and there's some really fun ideas in this thread.
So of course it's nearly drowned beneath a swamp of tastelessness, autism, posing and money-worship.

Typical of /fa/, fashion and humanity in general.
And for an aesthetic supposedly designed around urban dystopian survivalism and minimalsim, there's a shitload of ludicrously over-priced, impractical (!), fashion-worshipping faggot fits in this thread. Also typical.
The only excuse you have for spending this much fucking money on this aesthetic is if you're trying to be some sort of Urban Special Forces (fucking why) and none of us come anywhere near the entry requirements to be USF, so you just look like fucking posers. Like 90+% of the goths have been for the past 15 years. You're about as capable of dealing with real urban dystopia as a stick of butter in the moist caverns of a fatfuck.

Posers fucking everywhere, and your wannabe aesthetics are about as deep and enduring as eggshell. Fucking typical. Motherfuckers thinking you can be aesthetic if you just throw enough money at some Wonderful Wizard of
/Fa/. Nevermind that all that money-whoring bullshit goes directly against the ideals of the aesthetic.

This burly motherfucker in cargo shorts and a tee is more legit and good looking than just about anything in this thread, for less than a fifth the price of these dumbass fits.
Goddamnit fashion is the fakest faggotry.

So what's the important difference between techwear and lunar, because I like both a lot, and have been thinking to blend them with some low-key milsurp lately. I'm only seeing lunar being techwear with brighter, whiter pallets and more 70's/80's retro-future styling. And the shoes for all of these bug me, because they need to look almost hardshell, but also minimalist and low-key without looking tryhard. Been thinking about modifying a pair of shoes, but I'm not at all confident about that.

it seems like you're really focused on how much money these clothes cost as a negative point. i'm not the kind of person that would spend $1000's on this stuff because honestly, i'm not that wealthy. but there are aspects of some of these clothes that tickle my expression bone. i don't necessarily think that the "tech" in techwear has to be functional/practical all the time. the aesthetic for me draws to a paticular "attitude" toward the world around us. and you don't need to spend tons of money to have an attitude. but these brands are forging a path for other smaller companies to follow in the future. i'm excited to see how Nike and such will influence other mainstream brands to adopt these "tech" expressions

i'm not shitting on Veilance, they're a great company with great products. but the whole "function vs. fashion" thing isn't something worth arguing about in my opinion. yes, you can call buckles and zippers "unnecessary" if you like. but what the hell is experimentation in fashion then? if you don't like cyber goth because neon and goggles and leather don't appeal to you then fine. but the way in which you dismiss a whole subculture because "it looks too much like animu" seems so bitter

Pick one.

Experimentation in fashion is hysterical. Your experiments look like over-priced, tasteless, nonfunctional shit. GG, dumbasses.
I'm not sure why fashion forgets about making their clothing look good. Is it some sort of rebellion? Is making a new style of good looking clothing too difficult so they just come up with bullshit for shekkels? Is it attention whoring?
Why is fashion so fucking ugly, guys?
I actually like clothing as a functional art form, so this bothers me a lot.

Tangentially, this is why I hate the Nazis. They figured out how to create the pinnacle of aesthetic perfection and made it irredeemably radioactive. They literally perfected style, subtle and strong and functional and glorious, and now no one can go anywhere near the heavily irradiated Mount Olympus of Aesthetics without looking like a fucking Nazi. I'm bitter as fuck about this.
This autistic bullshit literally keeps me up some nights.
Fucking Germans.

This guy literally has nothing better to do with his life than argue with strangers on the internet about things he doesn't even know about. I'm not saying this because I think it's funny, I'm saying it because it's sad. You're so insecure in your own young life that you'd rather just sit there and argue with people who you will never meet. I'm sure you could construe this as "oh boy I got him mad" but really I'm just trying to say to you nicely that you should probably get a job or a hobby besides 4chan. You're probably 14-25 and wasting your days on the internet.

>> No.11735013

It really is, and it's the same exact reason /ROG/ is gone. Personally I feel like 4chan has hit a wall where the core userbase is no longer a niche group (well it hasn't been for a long time.) Now there's always people (children) who hop into random threads thinking they're "le expert troll" that have no interest in whatever the topic is at hand.

Sure on any anonymous image board you're going to have to face the reality that anyone can storm into a thread and start posting whatever they want, but I think this leads to a point that the mods/janitors are basically useless nowadays. Someone walking into a thread to just shit on the topic should be a bannable offense, or at least blocking them for a while, I mean this isn't /b/ after all.

All I can say is that eventually it's going to come to head, people are going to migrate to other sites that actually care about the userbase (rather than just selling their info) and all that will be left are people shit posting their lives away.

However if it is not going on your leg, and you are going to modify it to work somewhere else I think it could work.

Also dessert camo is prime colors to be dyed OD or Black.
