>What is techwear
Urban Techwear is the futuristic, dystopian aesthetic centered around living in a city-like environment. Enabling the wearer to liberating movements and functionality that a commuter through an urban jungle would need. This is not to be confused with the whole, technical clothing, which is based solely on providing functional articles of clothing. With this broad definition of technical clothing, this allows designers to skew on what shape technical clothing takes. To remember it simply, technical clothing is broad and doesn’t take any form, urban techwear is just the name of the branch with a specific style.

Dressed-down, once thought to be turning over is just going to through a phase of construction according to his site. However, I've been working on a guide to post on Tuxbell as our sticky site lacks greatly on helping newcomers. Help would be appreciated to make this style the very first to have a compressible guide on Tuxbell.

the subnet is pretty damn exclusive - afaik the only people with access are retail buyers for stores that have acronym accounts, and some diehard fans/friends of the brand

Yo, so I came across this piece from Columbia the other day. It's technically a "wind shirt" from their golfing line, but I was wondering if it would be possible to implement this into a techwear fit somehow.

My initial thought was to include a black, long sleeve compression layer underneath, but let me know if I've got the wrong idea. I'm trying to find short sleeve alternatives to some of the outer layers since it tends to stay fairly hot where I live.

The struggle is real.

I've had a really hard time getting variation in my fits. One of the biggest problems I've found is that even if you find outer layers that work well in the heat, you look ridiculous for wearing something that looks as though it would be uncomfortable in that particular climate... does that make sense?

In my mind, with one of these shirts, you're open to the long sleeve option giving you that techwear layering look, but at the same time, you don't look like an asshole for wearing a jacket in the sweltering heat... I mean who knows? I could just be making excuses at this point, but I'd like to think that I'm on to something.

I feel you on that.

There's also the distinct possibility that the shirt looks terrible and doesn't really convey the techwear look as well as I would have hoped.

My university offered compsci 101 and its sequel, 105. There was also 107 for students with previous high school programming experience which combined the two and taught the materials in a single semester; I failed 107. The practical laboratories were horrible, there were probably 30 students all having their own problems with their code and 2 demonstrators. Cyberdog isn't techwear it's from the UK rave scene and having been to one of the shops trying a few things have and then leaving because everything looked average at best and was made awfully, I can't recommend it.

Techwear is meant to be garments that have improved mobility or better weather proofing or some other feature that adds function. In essence outdoor gear and sportswear is techwear but it probably isn't going to be what you are after (for the most part at least), you are probably looking for items that look good and are functional. So, there are two extremes that exist for this; there's the office suitable stuff (see mission workshop, rapha and outlier) or there's the techninja stuff like acronym and guerilla group. But really there nothing stopping you from combing items from here and there (I guess that's the point of fashion).

Sorry if my first reply was a little sharp stuff like cyberdog gets brought up every now and again , I just thought it was known to be shit

What is rarely understood in these threads is that the emergent style of techwear, as popularized on the internet (mainly on sufu), preferably consists of just as much form as function. Otherwise it is completely subjective. A "good" fit consisting of ACR or Veilance with each piece being used purposefully to perform well in the assumed environment? That's techwear. A similarly coordinated (each piece is used *purposefully*) fit with popular brands plastered with logos and bright colors, traditional outdoor gear and general disregard for stylish silhouette? Nah, not really techwear, you just look like a normalfag hiker. A "good" fit with few technical properties consisting of CAV EMPT, Y-3, maybe with some Visvim or other obscure Japanese brand thrown in with good lighting? Could be techwear af, or just streetwear with a label.

tl;dr Techwear can be what >>11700156 said, which I agree with, or it can be more about the looks. The reason why the style even came to be popular considering how long technical apparel has been around is due to a targeted LOOK.

just start off with not ridiculously expensive shit until you want to commit?
wearing some track pants, running shoes, and an athletic tee is techwear.
helps you avoid the pitfalls of looking goofy as fuck, or dropping too much money without having any real direction in your look.
personally I'm a bit hikercore/travel oriented and more into serious techwear that looks fashionable rather than fashionable clothes that are kinda tech, so it caps out at like $600 for a hardshell for me. most of the really expensive stuff is fashion stuff.
the only real expensive thing outside of grail garments is buying new wool basics every winter.
