I've been reading around a bit and it seems when you go low carb you drop your water weight and as a consequence you not only want to drink a lot of water: you want to up your salt intake because your body isn't going to hold on to salts in the same way.
"Light salt" AKA salt with potassium in it was suggested as a very good thing to have.

Among other things I've tried eating ramen noodles with some adjustments. One of them is I take the noodles out and replace them with konjac noodles. These aren't too bad. What they are is basically fibre and water. A serving of them will be about 10 kcal.
What might be useful if you do this is to add in alternative sources of umami. I'm not sure about this but the removal of the noodles seemed to make one variety taste worse for a lack of it.
So maybe you put in some mushrooms and Worcestershire Sauce, or something like that.

You will notice lots of fast weight loss on keto, but you really need lots of nutrients. If I were to do it again I'd try to eat as much spinach and other green veg as possible while on it, and take lots of supplements and multivitamins aswell as things that are good for the heart.

If you can't do walking for a few hours per week to ease in to an exercise routine, what about cycling or swimming? Swimming would be a lot better for a whole body workout to slim down, but you'd probably be able to cycle a lot more for persistent calorie burning.

I began July at 275 lbs.
I was my largest ever, I attribute it all to not changing my diet at the end of my season, and only doing heavy lifting at the gym.
I decided to go vegan, super-low-cal, and only drink water. Since July 1st, I have lost about 50 pounds. I am maybe 1 or 2 pounds off of 225. Just over the halfway mark to 180 but I hope this gives some of you hope, no matter how large your loss goal is.

5' 10" male. Started at 216-lbs last year in the Spring. This year the losses have been much slower but it's still moving. Today I weighed in at 148.5, a new low (not pictured).

I hurt my back and that's what started this. I haven't decided where to stop yet, I don't really need to get super thin as that isn't important to me, but, these threads have been very helpful so thank you.

Apple Numbers. I keep a spreadsheet of data like sleep and other stuff, this is just the graph of my weight. I make a new one every year and store the old ones.

Thanks, yeah it's been alright. I mean I get 1.5-2lbs a month off and I'm not so hungry all the time. I did most of this pretty slow. I can't manage much less than 1700 calories per day, and most days I'm more like 1800. So the weight loss will slow and slow.

I'm hoping to decide on some weight where I look good but can still eat pretty normal for when I go out with people or want a treat or whatever.

I actually like glasses. For me it was because it was such a pain to replace the glasses with sunglasses every time I went outside, and contacts weren't agreeing with me anymore.
