Just get a seiko 5 or one of the nicer JDM ones. So many choices.

Casio edifice has a lot of cheap options and a nice speedmaster clone.

Also Nixon. I always thought they were garish junk watches until my gf bought me a $500 one that left me very impressed with the finish and machining quality. Still a 200M watch with bezel markings going the wrong way and no lume kek. The sleeker ones look nice doe.

Medium Level?

Tissot: cranks their shit out and upsells it. Tissot is a commercial brand that mass produces a quality watch but one that is inferior in tech, materials and averages at $400 per watch.

Raymond Weil: Last of the independent Swiss Watchmakers. Sell exclusively upmarket. Their finer models sell for up to $5,000.

SevenFriday: Shitbagger newbies who want to break into the market. On same mass-production belt as Tissot.

I haven't met anyone who cares about watches in real life. I know people who have expensive ones, sure, but they only bought them because they're expensive, not because of their love for the movement or company or history.

No one really cares about the details on your watch, just the general shape of it (strap type and color, size on wrist).

I'm wearing Seiko 5s because that's all I can justify spending on what's essentially jewelry while still being bulletproof and convenient.

I might get a diver at some point for a few hundred euros, but even that will be hard for me to justify instead of just giving the money to charity or buying something more functional.

Yeah plebs won't care about your watch. These are the people that are literally shit at life and don't know much about anything. They'll be impressed with any watch that looks expensive.
But if you hangout at exclusive places such as: fashion events, galas, exclusive country clubs, high end bars / clubs then its safe to say the people there will know shit about watches.

I don't like blue because I'm pretty autistic about matching colors and I don't wear blue too much.

I think you'd have to switch out the strap for that too.

The bambino looks generally good. I prefer the versions that have the markers you posted, but at the same time, because they're minimal as opposed to the other versions which have roman numerals, they make the watch look like an oversized one and the dial like a huge empty area.

This is why I didn't get a black one myself and went with the seiko despite loving all the other details.

Every time I post that people ask about that, I hope it doesn't turn into a meme.

It's an SNXS79, it's also available in other colorways, google for Seiko SNXS and you'll get the other color numbers as well. I was between the silver sunburst and grey sunburst dial, went with the grey (79).

I think I'll wear it with a khaki 2piece zulu strap.

I'm going to try with a screwdriver when I get the watch (it's a 60 euro watch so no big risk anyway). I don't think it's easy to scratch the case in a way that is visible anyway from doing that. There's a tool designed to do that actually, but it looks almost like a screwdriver anyway, and I got a new set of small screwdrivers last week so I might as well use them.

>>11682122

I don't know yet, actually, I'm waiting on mine still, it might just be the picture temperature making it look blue in that picture, although I'd prefer that. I don't really notice the lume on my other watch, so I don't care much about that.

The 5 logo is ugly, ideally I'd have no day/date, no 5 logo and a bit pointier hands, and this would honestly be my ideal watch regardless of price.

At this point, it doesn't make sense for me to buy something much more expensive, I do hope there will be a SARB with a sunburst dial at some point though, since they share similar aesthetics but SARBs don't feature days and, obviously, the 5 logo.

I never care for the date much unless I'm on my computer/phone sending emails anyway, I hate having to reset the day and date, I don't like it visually. I don't think I will ever buy an expensive watch with that complication (or probably any other as I don't have a functional need for them and I don't like them aesthetically).

I prefer smaller watches, but I have thin wrists and a rather thin frame, so these feel like they fit me more, I could see myself wearing a bigger diver if I had different proportions.

I like the hand shape on that more than the one I'm waiting on, and the black day/date, but I don't like red details if I can avoid them, and I think models like that aren't as dirt cheap as the one I got.

I wish Seiko could make a jaeger lecoultre master control clone-like watch with a 7s26 movement without the 5 on the dial, I'd probably buy 2 or 3 of them and wear them throughtout my lifetime since honestly I don't need much more feature-wise.

I've been looking into getting a new watch and I would like a blue face/bezel classic diver. How do divers look on slim wrists? Any particular brands I should look for?

>> No.11691710

>>11691685
Look good. Older watches tend to be smaller. I've got a tiny wrist as well, 6.5". The Rolex Submariner fits great on me. If you can find one similar in size (40mm) then it'd probably look good.

Check out Seiko, or Casio if you're broke as fuck. Blue might be harder to get. Omega runs some nice blue diver's watches, IIRC.

As a teacher, there's plenty of reason to have a watch. You don't want to be fumbling around on your phone to keep track of the time at any moment.

>You have five minutes
>oh wait hold on let me put in the time
>shoot wrong button, have to re-enter the time

plus it sets a bad example to students to fiddle on their phone because you are doing it. I would assume people in other businesses where cordial behavior and time management is key have good reason to have a nice watch.

As I said, a watch might be useful to you but there's little reason to justify spending more than 50-100 euros on one unless you want to signal you have money. You can find pretty watches at that money, you can find functional watches at that money.

You can get seiko 5s that look similar, they will last you almost a lifetime as well.

I received my SNXS yesterday, the watch that I talked about earlier in this thread, which also comes with a blue dial but I got the sunburst grey instead.

As far as I can see, it's perfectly made, nothing misaligned, keeps time very well and is very shiny in a pretty way. I didn't expect this to be this flawless for 60 pounds.

It's rather small (I like small watches) and while I was sure I'd swap the bracelet out, because I don't like bracelets and because it's supposedly trash, I was pleasantly surprised to find people consider it trash because it's very very thin and thus comfortable, which is the main reason I wanted to switch it out, so I might end up keeping it on.

Unless you're a watch enthusiast, doing it as an investment or want to signal you have money, there's little reason to pick up a rolex to achieve that aesthetic.

My phone camera is terrible so this is the best I could do.
