To be honest, unless you're trying to impress people who are really into fashion and care more about brand than looks, i'd say jansport is best.

I have one that is a basic faded-ish military green color with a brown leather bottom that is beat the shit out of from my highschool/college days, and get non-stop compliments on it.

It always strikes me as strange that people go out of their way to compliment a stranger on his backpack, but yeah. Pic kinda related. Not the same one but same color.

Same experience with chrome packs for me. I got my Yalta for $60 instead of the normal $150 or Whatever it is. Only having two pockets is annoying as fuck and overall it's just not that a good bag. The tarpaulin is cracking, its not that comfortable, there is no airflow so my back gets sweaty when I bike with it (ironic considering its a cyclist pack) and overall it's just a bad bag. Oh, and the warranty is virtually impossible to redeem. I'm just glad I didn't spend full price.

I went inside a timberland store just to look for some boots when I saw this bag. It was perfect. Not to common you see timberland brand bags. Got the peach/pink one and its soooo nice in person. Feels very high quality.

The bag is split into two compartments though so don't get it if you need to put large textbooks in it since I can't even get my 13 inch laptop into it. I just use it for small things like snacks, money, small tablet etc.

I take public transit (inb4 poorfag) so it's really useful for shopping trips where I have to go to multiple stops and don't want to carry items in my hands everywhere, and don't have a trunk.
A medium sized backpack holds about enough clothes and other stuff for a weekend trip, or if I'm staying overnight at a friends, or a change of clothes for the gym.

I think it's a little strange for an adult to get daily use out of a backpack, the only items I need on me at all times fit in my pockets.

I don't really see the point in fashionable backpacks past uni

I don't carry much to work, and even when I do I use a bag with handles so that shoulder straps don't mess up my suit

If I need to carry more than what my pockets can hold on weekends then that usually means I'm trail walking or something and those sorts of activities do better with well constructed bags rather than good looking ones

I mostly use mine to carry around my rain jacket, water bottle and laptop+charger

To keep it kinda full though I usually put in an extra pair of socks, a thin sweater during the winter, a thing of deoderant, and a sketchbook/pen

My pack is the maxpedition sitka gearslinger, I got it when I was inna army and it didn't get used much until I got back home

oh it also functions as a good motorcycle pack- holds my tool roll, bike cover, and still has enough space for extra clothes/shit, and it's got a pocket for a camelback bladder/tube. Good for longer trips/trail riding. Just gotta be careful not to overpack because overloaded sling packs fucking suck to wear after like an hour
