What are the basics I need to build my own style up instead of just riding the meme's and trends.
None of my clothes fit anymore as I've lost a lot of weight so I want to actually try and dress nicely for the first time in my life, also my shoes are beat to shit right now so any decently priced shoes I can grab that fit in with the basic shit would be a godsend.

I just bought my very first leather jacket and I'd like to ask about the size/fit. What's your opinion? IMO chest and shoulders and biceps are good, but belly area is little too broad like usually when I try to find some clothes. I'm 6'3 and 205lbs and have muscles on upper body, but waist is slim. Should I keep or return it and looking for more slimmer jacket.

I like my Navy issued Bates but was curious about their other models, for wear out of uniform. I was considering either these or Corcoran jump boots, not looking for Dr Martens.

>> No.11627831

Do you find your Bates comfy for long periods of use? I've read that their comfort/quality is really hit or miss. Corcoran has the best reputation for sure (and their other brand, HH) so I'd get those.

A lot of guys complain about them but after a like a year or so of wear I loved mine to death. My biggest thing with boots though is the sizing; The Bates I have are 10.5, and I have a pair of Dr Martens that feel pretty loose at 11; Now, I know Docs run big, but I wasn't sure whether to give Corcoran a try (I had heard good things about them) just because I'd have to take a guess at the sizing or just hope that Bates' sizing is pretty universal across all models.

you seem to know better than 70% of this board, your fits are fine. you have come to the wrong place if you need good advice.

as for your fits I think it's good as it is with that tee, maybe switch out to a white tee, if not, switch your socks to blue (if u have some that are in the same shade as your tee), so skip the shirt

if you insist on the shirt tho just roll with that and don't do the barracuda

the barracuda is nice, altho maybe slightly too long in the arms. I think the beige colors on the chinos and barracuda causes it to look like a failed match, the chinos being a lot less saturated and a lot cooler in color while the barracuda is warmer

also don't recommend wearing the beige polo cap with the barracuda+chinos, in fact I don't recommend the barracuda+chinos at all

so all in all use the second fit is the best, keep it as that, maybe switch the socks out. then wear your meme polo cap with it as well, unless you have great hair. personally I always wear caps cus I don't wanna fix my fucking hair lmao

also shoes is a tough 1. reebok classics is top tier comfier than Stan Smiths tho, Stan smiths are a bit overplayed atm, then again (no offense) so are the polo caps - you might just go all out at this point. reeboks are also the new "fashion interests me lol" tumblr girl shoes, not in a bad way but yea just saying in case u wanna impress those. I'm hoping for ur sake that the Stan smiths are the blue ones, the green ones wouldn't work famo.

so for shoes I'd choose the reeboks, altho they do look a lot more ghetto than your sort of "smart" casual look, so stans might be better. again stans are a bit overplayed, also not very comfy, but would probably work better than 'boks for your fit

tl;dr: second fit, match socks with tee, wear cap if u have good hair

first fit is ok. jacket is a little big yeah but it's no big deal

second fit jacket fits better, but does kind of make you look like you're a big guy

wearing the shirt instead of the tshirt could look better with either fit imo but theyre pretty much the same color and it wouldnt make significant difference under the jacket

overall theyre both very average and the fit on everything is alright, and honestly i think youre just gonna make it harder for yourself to be confident with them if you overthink it. just pick whichever one you like more my dude.

your problem isnt your fit, its that you need to just need to lurk more instead of being so unsure about so many small things

well, although high waisted pants are only in at the moment among trendy artsyfartsy good looking people (aka not you because youre fucking fat lmfao) i always thought it was basic knowledge fatties should wear high waist to hide their gut.

as for your fat, i'll give you a tip: if you have ADD, start using dat dere Ritalin. I mean like holy shit i lost a couple of kilos real fast thanks to that shit, went from 73 to 67. Also not sure if ur already doing that but I suggest you head to /fit/, read the sticky, use some of that DNP (that's what its called right) and heck even some fucking roids if you're 25+, you're beyond saving anyways, might as well get some of that manly facial gains.

like the other anon said, your question is too vague. at this point, just coordinate your colors properly, don't try out any "styles" until you're confident in them. you are supposed to carry the clothes not the clothes you - which basically means that what you wear is supposed to reflect your personality and stuff.
just head to fucking reddit /r/malefashionadvice. everyone there are unoriginal faggots obsessed with fashion rules and fitting in with the crowd to impress people anyways. not saying thats necessarily a bad thing but desu i want to keep /fa/ free from fags like you who clearly arent interested in fashion but just want basic advice. go to mfa, come back when youve lost weight and got some taste. no offense lad, love you, peace

seriously
you will only regret buying cheap bad quality stuff later down the line, not to mention using lot of money for fewer items makes you really think everything through which is good as you will get shit you will actually like and wear
urban outfitters is pretty good quality though or so I have heard and Uniqlo for example sells good quality basics if you need like shirts or tees

What the fuck do you do when you're 5'6" and you're not anorexic? Nothing fits. Everything is too long. T-shirts and polos are just sized in "Small, Medium, Large" and the only measurements given are around the chest.

Small is too tight. Medium is too long. I'm fucked.

I go online to buy some clothes and the model is wearing a t-shirt that fits him perfectly. It says "Model is wearing size Medium". And then it says, "Model's height is 6'3". Like what the fuck man.

my last pair of pants were april77 joey doom's. they were comfy, super skinny, & looked exactly how i wanted skinny jeans to look.

the best part about them is that they stack at the ankle, and they are skinny all the way down, so they don't look weird at the calf / ankle area like levi's 510s do, but they aren't stretch denim.

i ripped the crotch open an irreparable amount recently, and i'm looking to replace them. i was thinking of buying another pair, but these last ones only lasted for 16~ months.

so i'm asking w2c jeans that:

>aren't stretch denim
