Racc zippers were only used until around 2013, then they switched over to chunky YKKs. Legit Rick shoes do have a very distinctive vanilla smell, but that doesn't really help for online.

Best way to tell is a combination of factors, but usually the silhouette is the biggest clue to fakes. Things like the patch can sort of be used, but there's so much variation from season to season that it's not completely reliable.
