It's a mix. I'm 5' 10" and was 216-lbs, now I'm 152-lbs and dropping. I too have a bad back, although it wasn't from lifting. L5S1 disc problem.

I let myself go pretty bad a few years ago. My gf is big into healthy eating and cardio fitness so like you she was bummed out.
She tried to encourage me to get better but the impetus was external and I resented it so I would just fake that I was improving. Got pretty bad. She would wake me up in the morning to remind me to go for a run and I would get mad at and yell at her that she didn't let me sleep in. If I did end up going out for a "run" I would just run until I was out of site, walk to a public bathroom and splash water on myself so that I looked like I had a workout. She would prepare healthy meals for me every day and buy me sashimi but when she wasn't watching I'd go to McDonald's or back to the sushi place for tempura-style shit.
I tell you this because in my experience you can't force, persuade or cajole people to change. There needs to be an internal switch to that drive.
Finally I came up with the motivation to change for myself when I went to the dr for strep one time. They weighed me in at 269 and in the summary of that visit they put an exclamation mark next to my weight (I'm 6ft1 for reference). I had been pretty stable at 250 before that so that came as a shock.
After that I stated to make changes. I would really go for my runs but I did it on my own volition. I would start preparing my own healthy meals.
To keep track of goals my gf proposed a bunch of sexy side bets if I hit my weight loss targets.
Good luck but there's a good change this could be a while so evaluate your level of commitment before diving in

Well if you want to do it for ten days you are going to need a lot of determination; it starts getting a lot harder as days go by plus your metabolism will slow down if you don't do anything.

If you plan on just fasting without any exercise it might be better to eat every third day to keep your metabolism's speed up. You'd probably lose more weight that way.

Honestly exercising while fasting is the best. Buy some ephedrine or caffeine pills if you need the energy. Exercising on its own can give you an energy boost too.

You don't have to do anything extreme, just go for an hour walk a day or something.

Of course you'll still do whatever you want. I just wanted to offer some advice.

5'9 is pretty tall for a grill,i think your daily calorie intake should be 1800kcal to maintain weight,depends on how fast you want/can lose that.I have switched to healthy eating because it really fills me up without calories whatsoever.Eat stuff like oatmeal,lots of fruit,yoghurt,whole grain bread and the most important of all,a shit ton of water everyday.Do fasting for 24-48 hours now and then and you will be a thin girl in zero time.

1400kcal will get you to 140-lbs by end of October. I think that's a good goal for you. It's moderately aggressive but still has enough calories to keep you nutritionally very good. Obviously make sure to be eating quality 1400kcal and not junk food, you need to fit a balanced diet in that.

10 days is a short period of time

Keep in mind that if you diet for long enough you WILL lose weight,otherwise you're breaking the laws of thermodynamics

Stay away from corn,bread,pasta,potatoes etc.

These foods are killers in diets

Stick with green vegetables,fruits(in moderate quantities),tahini,hummus etc.

Apples and grapes are some of the worst fruits for you. They're high in sugar, but don't really provide many vitamins compared to fruit with less sugar.

Avoid soda all together if you can, but one every couple months won't destroy all your progress.
