that movie had no right being as god awful as it was. Inherent Vice was a good pynchon novel, PTA never had an outright terrible movie before, and generally Pynchon falls under the kind of humor and themes Altman-Anderson engage with.

so why the fuck was it so goddamn bad? it just felt so lazy and uninspired and amateurish. the whole thing fell dead flat.
