It's a mix. You can get extremely skelle without being anorexic. If anything the anorexics end up burning out, having health problems, ending up in some mental hospital that forces them back to a BMI of 21 or some shit. The people that take it slow and get skelle with ease, are the ones that last. Not true. I lost a ton of muscle mass. First you burn fat for energy but once your body runs out it uses muscle. I'm weight restored but you can still really tell how much muscle I lost in my legs; pic related... No muscle tone.

It varies person to person though, if you're naturally mesomorphic you might look okay even if you lose some. Please be careful though.

I understand. There is certainly a lot to be done, but, I've been trying for all my life and I'm just tired. I don't have any friends. Not much family either. I got no kids, never had a gf, zero friends, chronic back pain, and obviously crippling depression. I'll probably kill myself soon. I understand staying alive if you have responsibilities and people close to you or that rely on you, but, I have none of that so it wouldn't even make a ripple. If I killed myself today in my apartment, no one would know until it started smelling. Increase your fiber. Bran cereal helped me a lot. Specifically: Nature's Path Organic SmartBran with Psyllium and Oatbran. Then for lunch I make sure to have some sort of green or vegetables. Then for dinner I try to work some in too. It's actually fairly difficult to get to the recommended dose of fiber so you have to work at it.

How do I stay fit and thin forever without much effort? I'm a 5'2" girl as well and I find that I actually lose weight much faster than most, and gain it faster as well. This is because 5 lbs makes a noticeable difference on my frame (gained or lost), where as it isn't visible at all on someone tall since the fat is spread across a larger surface area.

Also, I used to think the same thing until I went to treatment; I gained 30 lbs in less than a month and then my body literally wouldn't go above a BMI of 19. Even on a 3000+ calorie weight restoration meal plan and zero exercise. Now I am recovered and maintain a BMI of 18 eating around 1800-2200 a day, which is roughly the same amount as my 5'10" boyfriend who has a BMI of 24.
I'm not saying 1200 isn't maintenance for you, but I think it has less to do with your height and more to do with your genetics and metabolism. I don't exercise at all but I've always been naturally pretty small even before my ED, and I know girls who eat healthier than I do now and still remain chubby. I've also been in treatment with tall girls who got a lot bigger than me on the same exact meal plan. Weight loss isn't as black and white and people seem to think, genetics play a HUGE role.

Studies show that your metabolic rate slows about 1-3% per decade, depending which you go by. By 50 that seems to stop slowing.

So between 20 and 30, is about 50kcal difference. Certainly enough to make a significant difference over time, but not enough to matter if you are monitoring your weight.

My dietician told me once that I have a very fast and responsive metabolism, meaning that it speeds up when I eat more calories. It's something they do at eating disorder treatment centers to make sure you're getting an adequate and balanced diet of different types of foods (grains, proteins, fats, fruit/veg etc.) while still leaving flexibility and not being calorie-specific.
For example, 1 slice of bread might be 1 grain exchange, 1 apple might be 1 fruit exchange, 1 serving of broccoli would be 1 veg exchange, 1 cup of yogurt would be 1 protein exchange, and so on.
Generally speaking, a meal usually consists of about 7-10 total exchanges, typically 2 grains, 3 proteins, 2-3 fats and 1-2 veg/fruit. Snacks can be anywhere from 1-4 exchanges depending on your meal plan.
