Formal wear for people who dont like suits

sometimes I have to dress smartly. I don't like wearing suits at all. I don't really like to dress seriously enough to pull them off, and as a manlet, my proportions always look off on them as they're cut for (and look far better on) lanklets. Can never wear a suit without feeling like I'm 16 and at prom

Are there any non-suit alternatives to formal wear? Are there any types of suits that don't come off as contrived to people who aren't 'sharp ;)' enough to pull them off?

Pic related, imagine Straw going full Tom Ford. Wouldn't work at all with his messy awkward style, and I dress just as autistically as him
