Ok finally a thread to ask this.... Can somebody enlighten me on which vans old skools to get. Are the pros better? Do they last that much longer? How are the his compared to the lows? Will the hi's be too hot for summer? What about the 'lite' highs? Lastly i've heard complaints about the lack of suede sides on the old skools this season... is it really that bad?

oh well then yeah go for for it! they will last pretty long, but they do blow out in the Ollie hole area the fastest, so you might need shoe goo if you Ollie a lot. But they look dope! i have two pairs so i say buy em!

I like them and they have become my main skating shoe; besides converse. My favorite are the Pj Strafords then the new ProCourts. The Brighton are good, but just not me. Quincys are nice but as for the Artos; I haven't tried those yet.

the last pair of 'skate shoes' i had were like 12 bucks from kmart and lasted for years
i couldnt find em anymore
so
i can get vans relatively cheap compared to other main brands
and im in australia so i dont really have that much choice
not only that, but i've got real fuckin wide feet

what're some decent skate shoes for fuckers with wide feet like me? cupsole and preferably vans/nike/adidas

but i just question your motives ; are you wearing skate shoes to get the 'skater' look or because you can't find any other good shoes
lastly there are tons of people who are dicks and always jump on the "DO YUO EVEN SKATE BRO" train but ignore them

any shoes will get fucked up if ur skating. the key is not to buy a really expensive shoe thats supposed to last forever, cause it wont. and dont buy a cheap shoe that will last a day or youll be spending a lot of $ on replacements. instead find something in the middle that is gonna look good when its beat up. i think vans old skools are the best, or sk8 his if you want the ankle protection. i prefer the classics, but the pro versions extra cost is definitely justifiable.
