How are you doin' /fa/ ?

On several occasions I've been told that fanny packs are not very /fa/.

My problem is that I carry a lot of stuff in it (thick wallet, phone, car keys, loads of business cards, pack of chewing gum, etc.)
and if I move all this into my pockets
there will be lots of problems like
stuff gets thrown into the laundry with old pants by mistake,
stuff is not moved into new pants' pockets,
etc.

What would you recommend as an alternative to fanny pack ?
