I went to Walmart today to figure out what size 874's I should wear. I tried on 33/32 and they looked alright but I really don't like how Dickies look bunched up on top of my shoes so I tried 33/30s and they squeezed me. What's up with that? Also the waist of every pair that I tried on was really uncomfortable when I sat down. The front would dig into my stomach and the back would stick out really far and just looked like shit.

I always thought of these as work pants since it's what my dad would wear to his job. I sort of can't believe I'm saying this, but I kind of want a pair.

It seems that everyone says that the 874s are the pair to get. How do they fit? I went on their website, and I honestly can't see that big of a difference between the sizing in the pictures, unless it's the loose fit. I want something that is slim, but not skinny.

Also, wouldn't these sort of count as chinos?

874s definitely aren't loose, but i wouldn't consider them slim either. kind of an inbetween. straight. they sell "slim" cuts but i personally don't think they're worth buying over 874s. if you are actually slim they won't hide it, just make it less obvious.

I'm p skinny (5'10 120 pounds) and I went with young men's 28x30. The fit seemed a bit better than the regular 874s but that might just be my imagination. My main advice is stay tts for 874, and size down for 873. I would generally stay away from 873s generally, as they just kind of make the whole dickies ball crushing low rise issue a lot worse.
