i just dont think demna has the elegance of the house
>he has the outrageousness of margiela
the reasoning of why I think its an interesting choice to be appointed CD of Balenciaga. He has experiences with Louis Vuitton and Celine, and studied at antwerp's royal academy of arts, so in my opinion i think he has refinement, its just the direction that i'm curious about.

Hedi Slimane is a legend ):
Rumours are that Anthony Vaccarello is going to take his position. He currently works at Versace where he's doing a decent job imo. Almost only womenswear, but whatever menswear he does is decent

He contributed to the Versus Versace Fall 2015 collection

might i add he has good reason to be particularly proud of his work with fragrances, as his dior fragrances were pretty amazing, and it's the one thing he can't do in Saint Laurent

Demna at the helm of Balenciaga is like the trainwreck version of J.W. at the helm of Loewe. I don't think he's done enough to separate himself where it doesn't feel like he isn't just doing an upscale version of Vetements. J.W. has done such an incredible job at Loewe taking his own design and balancing it into the house's ethos. Maybe it isn't fair to expect Demna to be able to do that overnight, but I have doubts about whether or not he'll be able to find the balance he should have.

Fragrances can be phenomenal money makers with not nearly as much effort as it is to design a new collection every 6 months
Most celebs get it, once you get it sorted it becomes a passive money maker for a year or two, then just go back in and make another if it was successful

also him handling his own perfume stuff on the side would probably have been seen as a conflict of interests

>> No.11127813
