Hey /fa/,
Battenwear anoraks are my grail, has anyone got any experience with them? I'm unsure to go with the SS packable model or the FW Scout anorak. Can anyone speak from experience as to what they're like and what the difference is?

What kind of climate do you live in? Would you say you could get around with the packable anorak in around 10 degrees celsius if you had a decent woollen sweater underneath?

Also you say you should have sized down - is it because it's too long or too wide around the chest? I'm considering sizing down too

I live in a high alpine desert so it's either hot or cold and dry. I think you could get away with the anorak and the sweater underneath at 10 degrees, but I'd probably forgo the anorak if it wasn't windy. I found it pretty wide in the chest and maybe a bit long. I bought a medium Battenwear camp shirt a year or so later and that fit much better.

Cheers for the response. One more thing, does the packable anorak feel kind fragile? Like it's gotta be thin to be able to pack up into the bag, does it feel flimsy at all or is it substantial enough to wear with a decent jumper underneath?

I reckon the packable anorak looks better than the scout but I'm having trouble finding it in my size / a colour I want atm
