On the topic of potentially played out geos

I think this outfit and a lot of the others I wear would look better with milk/milk baskets, but if I had the money for new geos I'd probably get different Rick shoes.

I honestly have no idea where I got that sweater but it's cheap as hell IIRC. I bought it on my way to a camping trip when I forgot to pack warm. Turned out to be a good purchase.

Adyn, uniqlo are both solid choices for leggings. If you want thicker and looser go for a long John in Jersey cotton from any old cheap brand.

I have to say since I got my knee wool socks I haven't worn leggings since, the socks are just so comfortable

how deep are the pockets on cropped drawstrings? i have a pair of trousers that i absolutely love EXCEPT they have no back pockets, and the front pockets are only "normal" trouser pocket size, so i never wear them because i have nowhere to put my wallet (i always carry my phone in one front pocket and my DAP in the other)

If I weren't on my phone I would post a side by side, instead I'll post a real one, you can compare it to the fake I posted and get back to me what you see right off the bat.

The dead ringer is the tags, of course, but even upon first look it's obviously fake.

I get most of my satisfaction and joy from the subtleties that come with well made garments. There is an attention to detail and masterful pattern making (that Rick is known for especially) which result in silhouettes and fits you can't quite get while going on the cheap (you can look great, don't get me wrong, but some represent joggers or whatever only gets you 98% of the way there in my opinion - that last 2% can be a total bitch). This piece in particular is evidence of that. Somebody put a lot of time and effort into getting something very close, but something is simply OFF about the overall shape. Missing all the details and subtleties that make people fall head over heels for this shit.

Anyway, I can go into detail on what exactly that is but I'm curious to see others try first.

I always think Rick jackets drape in a very distinctive way even when they're empty. They always have that nice slow curve to the arm, like it's already being worn by someone. The fake kinda looks like a cardboard cutout of the real thing.

Not prisoners, but I have some Felpa pods I wear a lot, and I really like them. They're definitely a little bulkier than my jersey stuff, so they benefit from slightly larger shoes like geos or boots. A little boxy but still an incredible silhouette.

If you wanted the flowiness of jersey, you could always wear leggings in the winter! unless even that wouldn't be enough.

Rick drop crotches look good because of way they're constructed, the inseams continue up the leg a bit past the crotch and join above it, so the upper leg still has some shape. Julius on the other hand has the crotch constructed like a normal pair of pants, just lower, so the crotch area doesn't really have any shape. I just got the opportunity of a lifetime doing some government work, lots of traveling and meetings, however my wardrobe is mostly rick and super casual.

I'm gonna go buy a shit suit tomorrow (I leave saturday for first week, just found out now) and will invest in a nice one later.

My current plan is to wear my stooges fully zipped over the limited dress shirts I have. Only jacket I have with an actual collar so it will have to do.

Would it be a cardinal sin to wear mainline swingers in more formal settings? I'm young and am told that the dress code is super lax (jeans in house of commons, etc.) but I'm worried the drop crotch or full leather jacket might be too weird for the setting.

Thoughts? I'll watch some videos of the house of commons to see how others dress.

Sounds like a good excuse to start investing in Rick's tailored pieces. My Rick blazer is my favorite jacket right now, in almost any outfit. It's a recognizable silhouette from the perspective of normies, but it's also so sharp and striking it stands out in any fit. I have the tailored pods and Astaire, all are very sharp but still exciting and have that Rick silhouette. I don't think you know how sneakers (or shoes for that matter) work. Glue is an essential element.
The quality also is not that bad. There are some duds, but I've had that experience with just about every manufacturer.

The pink soles were due to the dye being used in the leather, which is why you only see it from certain color leathers and it sort of follows the pattern of the shoe.

The pink is actually a reaction of a combination of things, hence why it missed QC to begin with. It's a delayed reaction of the glue, rubber, and UV lighting. Any showroom with heavy UV lighting (like ones that like to keep plants indoors for decor) have the effect. You could see it at Totokaelo because they have a fake sun room for their plants at the end of their shoe rack so all the Rick shoes on the left side facing the room turned pink.

I think a lot of it got out before it got ruined. I don't think every Rick piece had the issue either. I remember all the gum soled pieces and island dunks from Plinth and the Vicious ankle boots got it severely. The Vicious ankle boots sat until they did a garage sale, I think they sold for like 100 bucks? They were entirely pink by that time. I couldn't bring myself to buy them in that shape, even though they were virtually unworn otherwise.

never actually had them but i think that because of the curve the leg opening measurement seems bigger than it actually is because of the way the leg opening hits the shoe. have this autistic drunk mspaint drawing i made, the actual measurement is the blue line but the "effective measurement" is the red line so they would fit as slim as a pair of "normal" jeans with a leg opening the size of the red line
