Chippewa boots can often be found for cheaper. Patience and you'll find them for around $150. Quality isn't the same, but they're ok.

Thursday boots, while not nearly as well constructed as Red Wings, are cheaper, too.

I've had the same pair of Chippewa Apaches for the past 5 years and they are holding up great. I literally wear them pretty much every day and have used them for construction and farm work. Best most comfortable boot I've owned. When they do finally wear out I'll be buying another pair for sure.
