just bought a vostok amphibia scuba dude, gonna replace the strap with a gray heavy nylon nato, and then replace the bezel with a seiko silver pepsi.

I love the monster and it´s one of my favourite beater watches. But the movement cant compare with eta or swiss inhouse movements so you will have to cut the seiko some slack. Of thats all right with you go for it. Btw the bracelet is very good on the price range but i dont like the push pin business. Give a super engineer some thought with screwed in links (see picture).

That's an ugly choice but yeah you probably wouldn't get kicked out of the office or anything. I'd rather not awful rose gold and not a chrono for that purpose, myself.

You can't stretch your budget to like $300 for a SARB? I think it's a watch you can dress up or down really easily so it should work well as your only watch and it's a great high quality watch. Or there's also a quartz Seiko which is a lot cheaper and looks similar, I forget what the model name is but it says SAPPHIRE on the dial.

if it ticks like an asshole, don't buy it. most japanese movements seem to be safer and more silent when it comes to noise.

Honestly I can think of no reason why except that they want to shit up lesser watches to make more expensive watches more appealing. That watch would look too much like the SARB without the big ugly all caps text, and the SARB itself would look too much like a Grand Seiko without the black stripes on the hands and the lume.

Got this from my parents for Christmas.

I think it's cool as a piece of technology and from an engineering standpoint, but man, it looks like a huge busy clusterfuck when it's actually on my wrist.

I'm gonna look into a different strap, maybe that would help. It's a 23mm which makes finding straps a pain in the ass, though.

I'm starting to get used to it though, the orange is brighter than it looks in the photo and helps a lot.

Fot this watch for Christmas. I think it's pretty nice, but I've looked everywhere on the internet for hours and I can't for the life of me find it. Model number on the back is BQ 2065 but I can't find it like that either. It has a black, leather strap.

This is the watch I'm currently working on.

Found a beat up old automatic swiss in a thrift store and picked it up for cheap because they thought it was broken. I scrapped the old dial, case and strap, kept the movement (ETA 2436-2), bought a new face and hands and picked up a sapphire crystal case. Can't wait til it's finished, I've got some more work to do on the face and then it's done.

I wouldn't mind owning a Hamilton automatic.
