>Anyways, why doesn't /fa/ ever talk about formal wear, like suits, ties, dress shirts, shoes, etc.?
Most people on here are college students or low-wage workers, meaning that they really don't have experience with or need to know about suiting or menswear. There's also a pretty vocal minority that think menswear is basically Reddit-tier, which is obviously inapt.
>What are some good tailors, what is the best cotton for shirts, what socks to wear, what brand has the best leather for shoes? What wool is the finest? Etc.
For a lot of this, it honestly falls to personal preference, which may also be an issue. Most broadly speaking, bespoke stuff is the best for tailoring, but price-wise and availability-wise it's quite limiting. As for the remainder, most people - myself included - have to kind of try to find stuff that works and that we prefer from a fit/finish/feel standpoint. Some people love fabrics blended with synthetics, others hate it, etc.
