Cheap olive fishtail parkas from hm and so on are insanely popular. if you want to be different, get an intersting fabric or other features.

What does /fa/ think of patches on parkas.

>> No.10626235

>>10626215
I think they're alright when the patches are applied well. I've been thinking of getting a new parka specifically for that

>> No.10626258

>>10626235
I am handy at sewing so can put them on there pretty good but my only problem is placement. If something was meant as a shoulder patch, I will put it on the shoulder, and since most patches are shoulder and upper arm I'm running out of space after just a few.

>> No.10626282

>>10626258
usually patches look good on upper shoulders or sides of the bicep that can be used for any type of patch. (you can usually fit up to 3-4 on an arm but that really depends on the patches)

Then there's the area right under the collar on the back of your neck which can be used for banner shaped patches.
I don't see too many on the front but usually they are placed on collars if they're small enough or you would have one where a breast pocket would be located, however there usually isn't more than one patch on the front because for some reason patches don't work that well with symmetry.

i just wear whatever hyper warm double layered northface coat i can get at the largest discount at the local store during the summer. the north coast is no place for fashion in the winter sadly.

Burlington coat factory has some nice peacoat types and some faux fur lined coats too for 80-100 bucks.

avoid leather, it doesn't do well exposed to moisture and doesn't keep out cold. avoid any materials that look like they would soak up and hold water.

Small like 1" to 1.5" circular patches are done on shoulders, and a larger 3-4" patch would be a chest piece on a marine mil. uniform if that helps. You would only put on on each shoulder and one on the left breast. More than that is a bit gawky.

>> No.10629499

I think he meant never played out. Some people on /fa/ worry way too much about what's "in", blue jeans and parkas are items that will never, ever go "out" of style. They might not be the hottest thing at one point but they'll ALWAYS be a good option.
