Yellow stitching will fade pretty quickly, you can even use a sharpie if you like. The monos have black soles as opposed to the brownish-yellowish sole of regular Dr. Martens. Base your choice on the colour of the sole, not the stitching.

I like the clunky style, but I detest the poor quality of Doc Martens. That's why I copped a pair of Solovair oxfords. Better quality, by leaps and miles, in terms of craftsmanship and materials. And the difference of quality is obvious, a pair of Solovairs will look so much better than Docs.

if it's this kind of leather, i've found they break in really nicely and are super comfy. quality isn't amazing though, so get the For Life guarantee. Also makes you look like a lumberjack/hobo if you're not into that.
