Seen this blistered scuba come up for sale but somethings bugging me about the product code.

Normally from what ive seen the code was
RU 5766 /LB

But the one ive found is RU 6766 /LB.

If you google the first one you come up with loads and loads of blistered scubas but the second number you find nothing.

Thoughts?

I posted this in the other thread too but I was just curious for some more input... Very happy to have found some Rick boots in my size online!

I'm just wondering exactly what boot you guys think it is, is it the "spike boots" or the "stiletto heel ankle boots"? Maybe there aren't that many girls here so you don't have that much knowledge about Rick's women's fashion?

also wondering if about +$200 is too much to pay for these. they're sold out everywhere so can't find prices...

>> No.10476504

Theyre definitely Spikes by the look of it, stiletto heel's have a platform.

If you're looking for more information theyre from FW13 Plinth, You can tell by the big chunky tarnished Raccagni zippers which arent used anymore.

Price wise who knows, theyre isnt a massive market that ive seen for second hand Womens stuff as there isnt the platforms to do it from apart from ebay. Is it an item you have to bid on or is the seller asking for offers?

Condition wise they look a bit scuffed up on the toe but nothing about of leather conditioner couldnt fix up

really dig the the fit on the right, shoes not so much. I'd probably swap the left's shoes to the right, and I'd make them with black laces and a black zipper. also have never liked that white "toe" on the converse style sneakers. left's top looks a bit contrived, common undershirt and a jacket "right off the rack".

even tho the right top has holes I know how "perfect" a worn shirt can feel. maybe make the head hole smaller. lose the drawstrings hanging from the pants

I think the craziest part is that the changes I'm suggesting are so subtle. it was overall a compliment of the right's fit, I was not the only one who didn't like the shoes.

being informed or uninformed more concerns politics or science. taste does not follow some bible to the nth detail

>> No.10479781

Than how come someone is being paid right now to critique art/fashion/music. Their tastes aren't better at, they are more informed. There is a reason certain people are viewed as experts in these fields, because they have studied so that things like "nth" degree do matter. Now I'm not saying that you have to be an expert to post on this trash website, but if you're going to critique something should you at least no a little bit about what you're critiquing before you actually do it?

well, if that were the case then anyone could become equally prolific.

this is a rick owens thread, rick owens himself is not famous for simply adhering to some book, if he is considered an innovator he owes it to his personal perspective, innovation, and yes, taste.

a painter could know all there is too know about painting, and yet choose to only paint fruits on a table. is he a good artist? in someways yes, in someways he's a boring artist.

people who make a name for themselves absolutely have a distinctive and valued "take" on what is happening at the moment. hence the word "taste-maker" or "trend setter", trends don't follow neat instructions.

my opinion was based mainly on the fact that
1. conspicuously old things don't appeal to me, even for the sake of style (in the case of the holes, to me the shirt is equally good without them)

2. drawstrings I think naturally should be tucked in. it doesn't seem sensible to leave them hanging out and swinging around.

3. a low cut shirt is feminine in a sense, showing less chest I think makes it more unisex

4. his original shoes were somewhat "quirky" in design. considering the rest of his outfit was solid basics, it made sense to me to continue that theme and have equally solid basic footwear, as in the ramone.

5. I just liked the idea of a black zipper being more subdued and less shiny/ noticable.

so no I don't have a degree in this or that and am not an expert but I do support my opinions with personal reasons that to me are valid. I'm not pissing on doing your homework just that its interesting to take inspo from others and note what you'd change. that 's the brilliant part, no one has to take your suggestions. they wear what they want. words mean nothing

I'm not going to read all that becuase it's all bullshit. You're still trying to defend yourself against my opinion that "everything you said was wrong or uninformed" but the only way you can apparently defend yourself against this is by restating the same shit over and over again.

Cool! You have an opinion, that doesn't make it right at all. I prefer Ramones with white toe caps. Does thay make my opinion wrong now, and yours wrong? You're trying to apply this viewpoint of complete subjectivity(while also implying you're opinion is somehow better than mine) to art and creative expression when that isn't a viable or even remotely correct way of thinking. There is good art, and there is bad art. Some of that is up to the viewpoint of the person consuming it, yes, but to say that art is completely subjective is undeniably wrong.
>Rick isn't famous for simply adhering to some book
I mean he did get his original attention from big people and start, in patternmaking. A job where he was literally just going by the books, recreating garments peiple brought him. He has said himself if he had not had that background in actual garment design before he started designing he wouldn't be nearly as successful as he is today.

I don't even know where to start with you in regards to your views on "trends". Trends are so fucking predictable that people literally have jobs where thy are paid to do exactly that. They do follow-maybe not strict- but some fairly well defined guidelines.

I honestly don't know why you're defending your shitty critiques of even worse fits, lime if the outfits weren't already bad enough you had to go and project your own shitty personal opinions onto it. If fashion is so subjective and the point of it is for the person not the collective then how can you sit here and do something like that? Is that not just slightly hypocritical?

Basically yes if you want to develop your talent in anything you have to put in the work. I'm not claiming Rick Owens magically woke up and became famous by intuition alone. just that his taste is unique and surpasses simple "learning" by things like repetition or previously established styles.

My point wasn't that art was entirely subjective, my example was meant to show that even a supposedly "talented artist" who can create lifelike paintings cannot be judged in this way alone. there are many dimensions to creativity, honing your skill by practicing techniques, proven methods only gets you so far.

My point was that there is a space between knowing everything there is to know about an artform and the decision to apply that knowledge in new ways.

My opinion was my own, I don't remember disagreeing with you because you didn't mention any specifics, except that I had no right to an uninformed opinion.

trends are predictable to a degree in the way they proceed from previous trends. so if trendy jeans are skinny, we can predict they will become skinnier, they will take that trend to the extreme, or at least some people will.

its easy to predict, or to anticipate trends in a 1-2 year time frame, not so easy if you're looking 10, 20 years into the future. the farther into the future the prediction, the less accurate it would be I would assume.

People are paid to do that because it is the most profitable course of a company, there are no guarantees, but a company, particularly a clothing company will always aim to be "forward" rather than "behind". that's the nature of the business. that's how Apple sells "new" iphones less than 2 years after they've sold millions of other perfectly good iphones, you either provide the consumer with in demand trendy items or you convince them they are by million dollar marketing campaigns posing their styles in the best possible, most glamorous, desirable light.

Studied corporate communication at Uni. Did a few internships where I worked across communications, marketing, and PR. My first full-time job was comms for a medium-sized business before I joined a comms agency. Then moved to a larger advertising agency and worked my way up into a social media account manager with a good portfolio of accounts. Been there about 2.5 years now, making up about 4 years industry experience total.
The dream is to get into fashion social media - and the field is underdeveloped compared to other verticals. But there are no opportunities in Australia for that, I'm in discussions with some places in Europe but no solid plans yet.

If you're asking because you want to pursue it as a career, I would recommend it. But say goodbye to any free time because cutting your teeth in advertising and marketing will take up 10+ hours a day.

I'm thinking about copping these but i'm really doubtful on how durable they are. Does anyone have experience on how good these take wear because i dont want to buy 500€ sneakers that will blow out in 2 months like my roshes did.

Can anyone help me find Rick Pieces and DRKSHDW pieces on LN-CC?

The ones from previous sale are not categorized and are only visible on related items when viewing their stock.

Heres some prisoners in 50,46,52 for a good price.

http://www.ln-cc.com/en_en/drk-shdw-pantalone-felpa-priso/090900000155321.html

I keep getting the same suggestions in my browser. I suspect it is cookie related based on my searches, so maybe some of you have other items I don't see from previous sale you could share.

Ignore this, I think they look even better in person. Went to the Rick store this weekend and checked them IRL for the first time, definitely much more sturdy than roshes since they're leather. The sole is a much more durable rubber too, like the bottom of Geos is. Much better than I expected.

>> No.10486510

>>10486357

Regardless of the reissue, the Geo leather isn't particularly sought after even in hammered lamb. If it's in phenomenal condition, you could expect to get around 800-900 for it. More if you somehow find somebody who really wants that particular version but it's unlikely. It doesn't hurt to try though!
Highly unlikely anybody would trade one of the Sphinx peacoats for it either. They are quite expensive, particularly the leather one.

>>10486377

All the tech runners I've had held their shape and wore in nicely (for a sneaker). The sole is more substantial than your run of the mill adidas. not comparable at all to Roshes. Anon seems to hate the silhouette; I think they are rad and very unique but difficult to pull off. Just own it~~

>>10486440

lol, it seems the items are still in their CMS but not linked on the site. I'm gonna do some digging and see if I can pull anything up. Link more cool things!

I would list it on grailed and see how it fairs. Take good pictures, be thorough but concise, and write from the rarity/Archival angle. If it's made in Italy, no damage, and with Raccagni zippers, you can play on that angle pretty strong. It's getting more and more difficult to find Rick leathers that are made in Italy for a decent price. List it a lil higher than you want to get because there are enevitably low ballers who just want to feel like they are getting a deal. If it doesn't sell take it down, hold onto it.

Personally I would just wear it. It's a great jacket, but it doesn't hurt to test the waters. It could go up in value slowly as time moves further away from the era of Italian made Rick leathers with Racc zips. Stag and Crust both are highly regarded for his leathers, so you have that going for you.

Lastly, you should me a message with some more details on the jacket, pictures, and price. Maybe we can work something out.

Got a Raf t-neck from AW 99-00 on the way right now.

In terms of Rick pieces, I'm looking for the right creepers second hand. Waiting for sale on the Adidas Socks and double layer tees. All the big stuff this season will have to wait towards the end of sale however.

I'm also super hyped on Julius and Undercover this season so I'm buying a few things from Japanese auction sites.

If you want a decent turtleneck for cheap, go with represent or uniqlo. If you want designer, I recommend looking for older Raf turtlenecks, though you can get them new this season for like 250. The Rick turtlenecks from Moody are great if you can find them second hand as well. The Rick turtleneck from Sphinx in question is just a lil disappointing for the price. I'll pay 200, maybe 250 for one new, but I already have a few turtlenecks and don't need another. I will be getting some of the higher end turtlenecks when the drop in price, maybe the cashmere or mohair one as well as the sleeveless runway tunics.
In short there are better turtlenecks for the price.
