How do I dress like I come from old money? I'm not upper class, but I want people to think I am.

People of lower classes aren't impressed by how old money dresses. They're impressed by branded clothing (LV, Versace, Gucci, etc.), so try that instead.
But if you're dressing to fit in with the upper-class don't bother, they'll suspect something the second they see you and they'll know the second you open your mouth.

I went to an upper class high school (think aristocrats and billionaires), and generally it's just boat-shoes and light chinos. Apart from that I wear lots of blazers etc. Once you turn 40, make sure to get a porsche and bright red/green chinos and thick rimmed round glasses. Congratulations, you're now upper-crust.

You're going to have to dress like shit if you want to really look like an upper class bourgie. Unless you come from a still-civilized country.

This is so true as it applies to new money as well. My aunt and uncle are new money (got rich in the 90s) and they still exclusively buy Burberry,Versace,Dolce and Gabanna and Lacoste stuff because to them that is the height of luxury. If you want to impress poor people,no one will bat an eye at Savile Row suit, they will only know you are rich if it's an armani suit. Poor people don't react to understated, they react to flashy.

Old money types can look like the scraggiest motherfuckers on the planet, they just don't care about money, why would they?

This tbh

I grew up among the intellectual elite in my country. I can tell you this - A LOT of rich people, including my dad, don't dress their class at all. I also have an uncle whom is a producer who dresses like Rick Owens-tier shit mixed with hipster shit

So yeah, there's to that. Although I'll have to admit old money looks great, but there's a massive stigma against dressing like that here in Sweden because lots of upper middle class era tend to dress like that. Also because it's part of our culture to be humble.

Old Money is seen through personality, they could wear all Old Navy clothes and still look fancy if they're standing on a yacht.

Guidelines are:
Keep it simple
Keep it classic
Act like you're in control of the room
Have beautiful but relaxed hair
Be chill but not too chill

>> No.10473282

They probably aren't rich dude. Like I said, lots of rich people don't show it

I've was a massive autist in my childhood so I dressed in H&M until my mid-teens. The upper middle class wannabe rich kids probably thought I was a poorfag or something. I remember them bragging about their rich parents all the time, which is funny because I knew they weren't

Nah mate they really are disgustingly rich, and they don't flaunt it. Most of them were on a short leash from their parents when they grew up so they wouldn't become spolied brats.

Bro-tip: it's all in DEMEANOR

Thus why having self-assured calm alpha demeanor is attractive to women. It conveys lack of neediness cuz you need nothing, you have everything, and nothing is a threat to your well-being.

But everything must be congruous. You can't be actually poor and pretending you "don't need a job", ppl can see thru that shit easily.

I went to an expensive private school, Ivy League undergrad + grad school, met lots of ppl from all socioeconomic classes, and the really rich just have an air of calm self-assuredness. Not in your face "I'm an alpha male I'm gonna beat your ass!" type of attitude which screams macho insecurity, but a little more restrained, got nothing to prove and no threat to my life kind of calm.

That is very hard to fake because it must thoroughly soak your entire being and all your mannerisms, the way you speak, the way you act, the way you react to situations, etc.

However, for 90% of the population, who are stupid and have not the life experience to know this, they can be fooled with Gucci everything + chrome Lamborghinis or whatever stupid shit the media is brainwashing the plebs with these days.
