Heavy Jacket or Ski Jacket

I'm moving to Colorado soon and am in the market for a heavier jacket to wear out and about. Would it be in my best interest to kill two birds with one stone and get a neutral colored ski jacket instead of heavy coat?

hm. well the thing about being out and about is it depends if you're just wearing it in transit or more as a "part" of the outfit.

if you're just wearing it to get there then you're leaving it, I don't see why not.

however it will still be somewhat conspicuously a "ski jacket" if you hope it to be "stylistically" versatile

It would definitely be more in transit. I'm not used to winter wear, so I was curious if it was practical.

yea. and in general, if budget is an issue then yes it typically is better to "kill two birds with one stone"
