plastic, uncomfortable, chunky, made in china, overplayed, heel sore, ugly silhouette, ugly tab, ugly sole, ugly stitching, short-lived

but hey if you pay for the Motel6, you're not gonna get the Peninsula

I use them as work/motorcycle boots. The Made in England ones are shit: stitching isn't as consistent as the Thai/Chinese makes and the leather is tougher, but also more like plastic and doesn't like being creased often. There are a few write ups online about Thai/Chinese/UK comparisons, but most of them are written by English fanboys. The truth is they're not as good.

Just grab a cheap pair off Amazon and call it a day. Wear them to work for a few days and they'll be good.

Do people who say they're uncomfortable even own them or have you never worn boots before?

They were comfy as hell the first time I wore mine and I got mine new

Go on Reddit's /r/malefashion and do a search for 'docs' quite a few things turn up. Somewhere on there is a huge inspo album for docs ranging from prep to punk pictures.

i just tried them on at one of their retail stores the other day, they look really really nice - much better than the standard doc chelsea.

That being said OP, get the 1461 monos. No annoying contrast stitching, they're more versatile in fits, and you won't see them on every 14-22 year old girl you encounter

I fucked a qt twink who was wearing nothing but Doc Martens. His little boots left so many scuff marks on my sofa, but I don't care.

But yeah, you should definitely cop Docs.

Not him, but where I live Docs are a staple in many gay mens' wardrobes. To be more specific, they are worn by the more effeminate of gay men. This is pretty strange, considering how boots are generally seen as masculine footwear. But, in any case, it has become a way of flagging yourself in front of other gays.

True. This reminds me of one time I was accosted by some "leatherheads":
>walking the dog
>wearing black boots, dark denim, black leather jacket
>three obviously gay guys walking down the street
>they're wearing outfits similar to mine, but with studs and chains tacked onto the leather
>we leather daddy now
>they were checking me out, then looking at the dog
>"You can walk me any time."
>o-okay :(

>> No.10451021

Pretty comfy and cheap. I use them as concert boots because they get scuffed up anyway and I can stand in them for a few hours.
