Can band shirts ever be effay?

I've actually thought about this a lot

and most of the time, I think the band should air on the side of "design" more so than "advertisement"

in other words, focus on creating a good looking design, and not "branding" it with an obvious album cover or band logo

also, stop charging fucking $35.99 for it at fucking concert booths

like, I hate the shirts that have a big ass "2015 tour" on the back with all the dates.......like fuck that shit

just make something that looks cool, and would look cool if it were related to your band or not

I agree with most of this.

The biggest problem is that it's hard to be objective about this sort of thing.

A sytem I just thought of:
Show someone a picture of the shirt, ask if they like it
-If they ask if it's from something, then forget it.

-If they say yes,
--then ask if they know what it is, and if they do, then ask someone else,
-- but if they don't know it's a band shirt, you're probably in the clear.

the idea behind this is that you're testing if it's relying on the fact that it's a band shirt or if it's just a nice shirt as >>10439046 pointed out is a good general rule.

i like wearing long sleeve death metal shirts but it can look pretty cringey tbh
