I naturally have very greasy hair that needs cleaning often or it gets itchy.

I've been using head and shoulders to clean it but it damages my hair and I think the chemicals in it may be irritating my scalp.

Is there any better shampoo to get grease and dirt off my hair + scalp?

I use the sulfate free stuff from Whole Foods
It's cheap and works pretty good, smells alright I guess too

Thats what I thought until I stopped using shampoo. Havent used it in week and my hair still looks great. Just use conditioner one in a while and that is even though using hair product daily. Its a bit itchy from time to time but I am pretty sure that this will stop once my scalp got used to it. After all I basically shampooed for 25 years.

Baby shampoo. Not even joking.
I have psoriasis on my scalp and every normal shampoo causes my scalp to go red as fuck except baby shampoo because it is alot "softer" so to speak.
