i have the reddish brown one of these Midori cases made from paper and wood pulp

they are smallish, roughly 7" x 2.5" x 0.75", but in mine I carry comfortably four pens, a mechanical pencil, a brick eraser, and a case of pencil lead; could maybe get three more pens/pencils before it gets really tight in there

Gold nibs tend to be buttery smooth, and depending on the model both steel and gold nibs can also have some flexiness. But paper also plays a part in how the pen feels.

Some pens on some papers can be way too smooth like writing in glass.
