How highly do you consider where you live when it comes to what you wear?

I live in rural England and was wondering if I should experiment with the American Workwear look this Autumn/Winter. I'm quite tall and have trouble finding clothes that look good and are a decent size, but with workwear clothing it often seems to have a looser fit and might suit my frame better.

I don't have a beard or chop down trees, but was wondering whether it could work. I was thinking of something like Timberland boots, Carhartt jacket, plaid shirts.

Thoughts?

That's what I was thinking. It's fine when I'm walking through the woods and hiking across fields and that, but when I go in to urban areas and look like I belong in a wooden shack in the mountains I'd probably stand out a bit, but I don't have a style to call my own. It's just Uniqlo tees, Levis and chinos with a denim jacket and CDBs, Doc Martens or Jack Purcell trainers.

It's just clothes, not an outfit.

Hard to say without knowing skin tones.

Personally what I did over the last year was buy a load of Uniqlo shirts because they're cheap and well made for the price and decided to buy them in a variety of colours (blue, red, green, white, black, navy and grey) and just see what works and what doesn't.

I'd recommend doing the same. Now I know what colours I look good in I can spend the money on buying better quality/fitting clothes that are in the colours that best suit me.

Sizing is weird on them, for sure. Make sure you check out the measurements and grab one that's like for sure your size, I run medium for most other uniqlo garments, except for their collared shirts (I wear a small linen, for example.) Quality feels really nice, still light but noticeably thicker and a much better touch to it. Nowhere near as thin and shitty as sum H&M linen popovers I have.
