Wear a shirt and chino shorts/boat shoes. You'll spill shit on your clothes so don't wear anything nice. Buy a vineyard vines t as a beater shirt.

just go basic. skinny black jeans, black vans and a polor or short sleeve shirt

Frat parties are overrated tbh but I would just wear what >>10303138 said. Don't wear anything you care about as the floor is usually grimy af and you'll most likely get beer spilled on you.

Like I said, they're overrated, but if you've never been to one you might as well go.

It's some weird(/kink?) shit when girls call guys 'daddy'.

It implies daddy's girls will call them (frat boys) daddy. I cringed when I saw it.

Ex-Fratstar here.

The khaki shorts, polo, and topsiders fit is tired and boring; anyone who is trying to get a bid or doesn't want to mesh in with the other five dozen freshmen trying to score free booze has to go a little more above and beyond.

Vineyard Vines is not your friend; it's your enemy. It's the kind of shit that kids have their parents hawk when they're home for Thanksgiving so when they come back right before Christmas break, they have a sweet Kentucky Derby patterned belt to wear to gatherings in the lulls of finals. Probably the only accecptable piece from that company are the Shep shirts, and most colorways have been trash since 2012.

Brooks Brothers is a staple and there's really nothing wrong with it. When the majority of you bros starr your entry-level finance and sales jobs, you'll be inclined to graduate from polos and shorts to slacks and button-downs. The quality is right and the price isn't absurd either. If you're sweating about the bill showing up on your pop's Amex, go to T.M. Lewin or creep your local TJ Maxx more.

Sperry's (read: Original A/O's) are beaten and tired. They were the original frat footwear of choice, along with New Balance 990's, but high schoolers ruined that for everyone and now you're stuck either getting stupid colorways to break the mold (which will make you look like a clown) or settling for something like canvas. You can go a lot farther with Gold Cup loafers or driving mocs, but let your grandpa rock the tassles. Rainbows and Chacos are alternatives, but keep your Teva's at home.

Standout attire for parties are primarily vintage pieces, preferrably before you were born, from Patagonia, Izod/Lacoste, any 80's florescent sportswear, vintage alcohol apparel (Beer Wolf, Spuds MacKenzie, etc), and the limited edition Grateful Dead Chacos. But don't talk about the Dead like you just loaded your iPhone with them; talk about how you've been following Panic on tour all summer. Trump "Make America Great Again" hats too.

Quality post right here. I've always been big on Lacoste, and, oddly enough, Patagonia makes some pretty good rugby shirts for the colder months. They come in weird colors but they fit well and the colors work, despite initial appearances. Yeah, I wear Sperries, but I've worn them since I was 5 b/c that's when my dad got a boat. When they started popping up everywhere ca 2006 I initially thought that the economy was doing great b/c look at these kids whose folks are getting boats, amiright? A good alternative to the boaties are LL Bean Camp Mocs; been wearing those for a while too. They run a bit large, though, so if you want to go sockless order a size-and-a-half lower or just be prepared to have to tie them tight as hell. And, for the professional wear, one good Hermes tie will get you far. No scarf motifs or critters or chinks in conical hats picking rice (although I do have that one); one of the more sober equestrian designs in yellow or blue. Think pattern 5450 SA or 845 EA.

I for one think these banners are hilarious. Crude, yeah, but that's what college is for. The white-collar world that comes after it is fucking suffocating.

New Balance is still in with the frat guys.
At least it is at my SEC school.

The rest is pretty accurate. The only people who wear Sperry's are the freshmen.

Honestly something like left. It's extremely basic and inoffensive, but enough for people to think you're well dressed and know what you're doing.
