all good man, i've been to the military supply stores in my area and their jackets are just way too big for me

although i haven't been back in awhile

went ahead and got this fuji patch and the everest one
I found a couple cool ones from the other stores but it made me self conscious thinking that if I wore them id be some weird emo varient because a lot of the patches are about death, skulls, roses, pills, and weird cryptic messages

I mean yeah it looks awesome, but wearing it makes me think im a walking suicide billboard to people that don't know me lol

It'll be wildly uncomfortable to wear I'm afraid. The patches'll be far stiffer than the t-shirt fabric and stick out in akward angles. If you're doing it, I suggest getting a heavyweight shirt and supple patches. Other than that, it's pretty failproof right.

Got this korean are field coat at a gun comvention. Much better quality than modern crap i found in army/navy milsurp stores. Also rare to find in my size with a secent fit, 60$.

Is there a place that sells very large unstructured patches or at least semi thin/flexible patches? Cost is not an issue, I'd just want something like this Raf jacket with the large patch on the side, but that's looks to be a stitched fabric print and not a patch.

Do i go the punk way with floss with this? The contrast between the fabrics is kind of apparent so maybe the white wouldnt hurt.
The middle parts are sewn with black thread like inbetween the black on the skull.

i used to do it, now i think it looks terrible when its used to much. sadly i figured that out halfway through my pants.
now i almost only use it for quick repairs or when i run out of thread when i am allmost done sewing the patch (only on my pants atleast)

still still need to re-sew some of the patches on my pants since its just to much.

back on tipic, i made myself this Antisect patch last night. pretty satisfied with it.

Noob questions:

Are the majority of good patches iron-on or sewn on? Or both?

Patches seem to be able to be placed on a lot of different materials (i.e. denim, leather, polyester, nylon). Are there any materials where it would be inadvisable to put a patch on?

Any general tips on patch placement? Also, are there any rules of thumb you guys follow when placing patches?

A lot of these look like iron ons, but you always wanna sew on your iron-ons, or otherwise use extra stickey shit on the back of the patch.
The fuckers always look stuck until they aren't, then you're out a patch, or look like a dingus with one half off
