I'm looking at buying my first watch, and I'm looking for something a bit more sporty than your typical dress watch, but still something that can be worn at work, even during days when full suit is required.

I've been offered a good deal on pic related (different strap though, it's from an AD), and I'm thinking of buying it and just having it until I can afford something else. But what does /fa/ think about Omega? Something just tells me that it's one of those brands, you know, that people buy simply because of the brand (like Rolex), despite there being better brands out there.

You're wrong. Omega is a classic and very respected brand. High quality, good movements. (for the price obviously)
I really like the vintage seamasters, i have two. They're not very sporty though and not waterproof in the least.
