So, I finally had success with my Alpenflage(the trick was to let it sit for about a day after boiling it for one hour). Let's see your overdyed camo jackets.

Nice. I remember the other thread. Did you purchase the original online? If so link?

Here's a fit in case anyone is interested. (6'2, 190) I used a whole bottle of "emerald green" and half a bottle of "dark brown" rit dye. These jackets are 50% poly, 50% cotton.

Thanks dude, I bought a medium from here, but I'm also /k/, so I had other purchases from these guys, but they have other cool camo patterns for pretty cheap(cheaper than ebay anyway).

Fuck yeah dude! Can I please get an honest opinion on this cap I made? I liked the camo pattern, but there was a concrete company's logo on the front so I sewed some leftover GI sateen fabric over the logo. Is it cool or lame? I feel like it looks like something a sneaker head would pay like $300 for if it was a boutique label, thoughts?

>>10182186
Lol, good thing I'm not in school anymore. I mostly wanted to wear this in the woods or at the range.

I got two of these right now and wanna dye one. could you go through the whole process and the amount of time on everything on how you got yours to look so nice? Thank you so much in advance!

I dyed it with Rit dye. I kind of wish it was a lighter green, the "Emerald Green" kinda sucks, but I like it loads better than how it was(pic related for those who don't know how this jacket looks normally)

>>10182577
No prob! So, I have tried dyeing this thing like literally 4-5 times, and I couldn't get it to work. I was getting pissed because it's a great jacket, but the tan color and the bright red just sucks so bad.

Here's what I got to finally work. I boiled the jacket with a bottle of "emerald green" and half a bottle of "dark brown" Rit dye and half a bottle of vinegar for just under an hour(40 min I think), it boiled over a few times, which was annoying and a pain in the dick to clean up. I then let it sit in the pot on the stove for about 18-20 hours(very important, do not skip this step!), then I lifted it out of the pan and let it drip back into the pan in case I wanted to try and dye it it again. I then put in in a hallway to dry, and once it was fairly dry I rinsed it in my shower(which stains, but you can get 99% of it up with a magic eraser and some bleach.) It takes almost two days to dry, so it will look super dark at first, but it's just really wet. Oh, it's 50% cotton, 50% poly, in case you need to know that. Good luck, and post your results! These are great jackets for $9-10.

>> No.10182677

>>10182639
Thank you this is very helpful! As for the vinegar bottle, how big was the bottle? And were the rit dye bottles the ones that are a bit smaller than something like a coke can or bottle, or do they make different sized ones that I've yet to find? Again, this here answered almost all the questions I had and I'm very glad you had such good results with yours eventually.

Oh, btw, the vinegar/dye/heat will give your buttons kind of a brassy tone, which I think is rad, but just a heads up

>> No.10182703

>>10182677
I guess I used more like 75% of the vinegar bottle but, honestly I think the biggest thing is letting it steep in the pot for about a day. I'm probably going to use two bottle of bright green to see if I can lighten it up a bit, I don't like how "blue" it is, the "Emerald Green" was just all that they had.

Just a large covered pot-roast pot? It looks like pic related but taller, I got it at a thrift store for $5. I'm not sure tbh, I have an old gas stove, so I just had it at the highest it'd go for like 40 min, and then let it sit. It remained hot and steaming with the lid on it for hours after I turned off the heat.

>> No.10183108

So glad you found a way to get it that color OP, I was the one trying to buy it off you in the last thread. Mine should be coming in a few days, I can't wait to see if I can get it this color. I fucking love this jacket, I just hope it isn't too big

Thanks dude, I appreciate the feedback, what do you not dig about the hat? I really like wearing hats in the summer for some reason, and I'm kind of a rednecky looking guy, so it kinda works, but I'm still uncertain. I'm glad I was able to help, I had a hard time getting help with my project for some reason, so hopefully my experience can help others.

Not trying to get into a /pol/ type debate at all(pls no politics), but the first thing that sprang to mind for me was a Rhodie FAL., I think dude in this pic looks pretty /fa/ tbh. What's your parameters for a /fa/ battle rifle?

Yo dude, did yours come with the face mask thing I saw in other pictures? All I can find is some sort of netting that comes from the top of the hood but it's really thin, it's probably for Mosquitos. There's a shitload of compartments so I'm wondering if there's some sort of button or pocket that I'm missing.
