Usually, the sneakers that get hyped on here (Stans, Killshot II, GATs, CPs, Geobaskets, along with some other Raf and Ann D stuff) are leather (or suede). Rarely do I see a canvas sneaker on here properly hyped/memed to the degree that, say, CPs or Stans are. Why is that?

Pic related, they're UNIQLO's canvas sneakers they're selling for about $35. Pretty much Vans-ripoffs, but for the price (and presumably quality) it's probably pretty good.

I think it's because there is a lot of diversity amongst leather sneakers. I wish canvas had more options. I'm basically set on copping these made in japan Doek shoes next.

I'm going to be 100% honest.

People associate canvas sneakers with underage kids. Particularly the kinds of shoes they sell in mall-tier stores like Pac-Sun and Zumiez.

How is a shoe style that's been around forever "fast fashion"? Obviously you don't know what that phrase means. Go spend $400 on man-child sneakers.

So Vans has unlocked some secret technology that allows their $35 shoe to be much stronger and more durable than Uniqlo's $35 shoe? You know this shit is put together by children with glue and a sewing machine right? It's probably made in the same factory ffs. Uniqlos might even be better because they are competing against an established brand.

h&m is fast fashion. zara is too. they're actively ripping off this seasons 'look' and shifting constantly.

uniqlo sells the same basics for the most part. just like levis and hanes. they don't try and become super stylish with the exception of the collabs.

no need to speculate man just walk into literally any fast fashion store and look at their inhouse shoes. theyre necessarily shitty, from the poor, shitty material to the poor, shitty build quality. you sound like someone who has never encountered fast fashion footwear and for that reason i dont know why youre so defensive over them, but i urge you to actually look at some before you start spewing this uninformed garbage

Are you implying that UNIQLO is any more "fast fashion" than Vans? Come on, guy, they basically go at what they do with the same mentality: decent build quality for cheap, same basic designs.

canvas sneakers are less popular in high fashion, usually cheaper and not as good quality.

they still get talked about on here
popular canvas shoes on /fa/ are:
>shoes like pottery
>CdG play x converse
>sk8 hi
people also talk about all black converse and sometimes waxed canvas ramones

I have a 2 year old pair of Target canvas slip on Vans ripoffs sneakers. They were $5. I recently cleaned them up and they still look good. I put a $3 insole in them and they are quite comfy.

canvas isnt as durable, gets dirty easier, and stays dirty. its also cheap and childish

are you two retarded? or have you just never been to uniqlo? they have better basics than the other fast fashion brands, but that's only half the store. its no zara where there's different cheap shit every five minutes, but you're kidding yourself (or shilling) if you really believe that uniqlo isnt another fast fashion brand.

also dont be stupid. vans existed before fast fashion existed at all. all their stuff is shit quality and their apparel is pretty much fast fashion but their shoes have been the same since the sixties so you can't really consider that fast fashion

please leave this board and just go hang out at uniqlo instead

>Fast fashion is a contemporary term used by fashion retailers to express that designs move from catwalk quickly in order to capture current fashion trends.

I'm sure the "UNIQLO Style" appears on catwalks all the time. Fast fashion isn't just about price (if it was, you'd be correct)—it's also about the designs they use. Having only basics means that it's not fast fashion.

God, it's a wonder how people can be so simultaneously cocky and uneducated.
