Thinking of getting my first tattoo soon and want to get it 2 fingers width above right nipple that's not too big but not too small. Thinking something along the lines of pic related. Any other ideas?

This thread makes me want to reconsider getting a tattoo.

But for real, how does the tattoo world work? Should I call and set up an appointment or can I walk right in and get it done? Do I have to use a design the artist knows, or can I draw out my own?

Also, how much would a black tattoo about 2" across be price-wise?

what are people's opinions on more "cartoony" tattoos? thicker lines, less details. i feel like tattoos catered to realism always end up less than satisfying. but then it'll be lots of small ones, compared to for example a sleeve
