Nah I'm on the 6th floor.

I was in Mindful Living LLC when I was a freshmen which is 3rd floor, and I tried to get into the community action LLC or whatever it's called on the 4th floor so I could room with my friend...but I ended up on the 6th with some rando.

Should be okay though, we have a private bathroom which is a godsend, not even a shared suite.

I almost went to GMU, it was between that and Tulane. I'm an incoming Freshman and GMU appealed to me because of the political science program, diversity and proximity to DC. However when I visited the campus was ugly as sin, the people there didn't seem to enjoy it too much and the academics didn't seem to be that impressive - I got in to the Honors College but honestly I never got a straight answer as to what some of the benefits there were besides living in a slightly less shitty dorm.

Tulane's main cons seem to be it's too much of a party school (I don't binge drink often at all) and the people there can be snobs sometimes but it seemed to outclass GMU in pretty much everything else.

Idk hopefully I made the right choice friendos.

I was in the Honors College at GMU, here's the benefits:

>WAY less shitty dorm
>register for classes even before seniors, like 3 weeks ahead of everyone else
>individual access to every professor on campus pretty much no matter what (HUGE for research projects, papers, and internships
>pretty good alumni network
>private conference and lectures from guest speakers
>free trips, food, etc, etc.

It had it's perks, but it comes with doing all this extra academic shit, I know plenty of my friends that aren't graduating in 2017 because of the requirements. People have jobs and lives to live. Plus, it doesn't even show up on your diploma.

Tulane is nice though, congrats.

i was in the honors college at my university. we got the nicest dorm (i moved off campus after the first year because only losers stay in dorms after freshman year) and grad student library privileges. those were the only decent things. all the extra lectures and social trips or whatever were dumb as fuck and catered to pre-med asian fuckers. we got a few honors college classes which weren't really that special.

Most freshman don't really get to chill with grad school profs and profs teaching 400-500 levels stuff until their 2nd semester junior year.

Some of my colleagues were working on research with high level profs in their sophomore year while non honors students were stuck trying to gain a professors trust.

Dude, don't stress about school rep. It seems important now, but I can promise that the real delta between Ivy kids and state kids is actually quite small. Honestly, the best thing you can do is leverage the shit you have available to you now - take summer classes, get multiple degrees, get involved in startup incubators or some other non-party work, do freelance work, etc.

I'll bite if this is bait.

For the sake of this reply I'm just going to say college as an umbrella term for universities and colleges.

You are completely wrong with most of your argument. Yeah, athletes do get pampered in college, but it's all within logical bounds. Sports make up a large percentage of funds for most schools so it's not hard to understand that athletes get a leeway when it comes to the academic side of their college career. However, what you also have to understand is that most athletes don't go for majors that require a lot of work -- instead they go for easiest area to study in because guess what, that's what's been recommended to them by their coaches and counselors. To expand on that, I wouldn't be using that video to mock that guy. And why is that? Because for athletes like him, it's understandable to see them not care much for their academics when they're that talented in a sport. I understand he might not have the brightest vocabulary but at least he obviously took focus on what he considered his priority (basketball), and made it into the professional league.
Secondly, you bringing up George Bush just shows how close minded you are in this subject about college. No matter how you much disagree with a politician's views or agenda, you can not say they are imbeciles. People preach different ideas, people have different experiences and different ways to solve a problem. I remember one time reading an article written by some random guy who had a class with Bush in Harvard talking about how studious and intelligent he was. Most people who have attained some sort of relevancy or wealth in their life are smart.

Lastly, I'm sure no one here who actually attends the college they're posting is seriously bragging about their university. Most schools don't give a fuck if you come from a wealthy family. It's just a logical coincidence since wealthier parents put a greater importance on having fewer children and on school.

Well Hki is the "coolest" city in Finland for sure.
I can't really comment on the university as I don't study there myself. It's considered to be on the shared top spot in Finland with Aalto university as they teach different programmes. You can study engineering/business in Aalto and medical/law/everything else in University of Helsinki to put it short.
What's you major or whatever it's called by the way?

I study in Aalto university. Basically I would pick Uni of Helsinki as the top choice and Turku as 2nd if I were you.
Turku is a nice smaller city that has a good atmosphere especially in summer.

Åbo Akademi is one of the two only swedish language univesities in Finland which you might already know. Naturally most of the students there are part of the swedish speaking finn minority and I personally do not know anyone that goes there. I think some Finnish-speaking people might feel that getting in to Åbo Akademi or the one swedish business school here is "too easy" for the swedish speaking minority just because there's not too many of them. That probably doesn't reflect on the quality of the school though and if you want to study in Turku it could be a decent option.
