when they closed their english factories and set up in china everything went down hill

i don't know what kind of magic marketing push and brought them back into the limelight in recent years but I remember that for at least a decade they just weren't around

i used a pair as school shoes and were quite fond of them
when I wanted a pair of kickaround derbies i went to a shoe shop and asked about them
apparently shops just stopped stocking them because people were so put off with the decline in quality

like i said, i dunno what bs people have been eating up in recent years but i only see them on teenaged girls, tumblrific lesbo college types, and the odd middle aged office worker who wants cushioned black shoes for work

they look superficially the same from what I can remember, but they don't last as long, nor are as well built, from any account I've heard from those that wore them in the past
